Sorry I have been MIA

I have had a busy couple of days and don't see it slowing down any time soon! So this post is going to be short too...

Skiing yesterday was awesome! We had a great time - though today I AM SORE. I will have some pictures to post tomorrow hopefully :)

I had a .8 loss today! I was pumped. I was sure I was going to gain - because after eating out for 2 meals on Friday while skiing - and one of which was fast food, I ended up 5.5 points over all of my points - so I used all of my flex and all of my 35 some activity points. So even though I tracked all week (week 4 done! 8 more to go!) I knew I was going to gain because I went over my points...well I didn't!! I am sure I could have lost more if I didn't, but I'll take .8 any day!!

No working out today - tomorrow it is on for 6 miles. So I should have done some lifting today - but did I mention I AM SORE. So that wouldn't have gone over well with my muscles that are already screaming at me!

A-Ok...so far anyway...

Well tonight I had my 2nd 4 mile run of the week and it was the first time I used my iPod since using some of my great readers advice of resetting it. And it worked...no freezing tonight! Here is my Nike+ from the run. I seem to be pretty consistent in my 4m pace.


I had an appointment to day with a physical therapist at the gym, because once I hit about 4.5 miles my left knee hurts. They seem to think it is caused by my foot and isn't actually my knee...so they are suggesting orthodics. I need to call tomorrow and find out if my insurance company will cover them and go from there.

I got to stay home today as it was really icy out this morning and my boss called me and told me not to come in...it was nice :) Plus my girlfriend who usually watches Charley on Wednesday had to take her daughter (whom I watched yesterday) to the Dr's because she thought she was sick since she had some labored breathing this morning. Turns out she has the beginning stages of pneumonia. I really hope it isn't contagious, so that Charley doesn't get it. Poor baby - they gave her antibiotics and if they don't help her some by tomorrow she will get oral steroids :(

Alright - here is my menu - I have 1 AP to save from today. And even after my big night out last night, I still have a hand full of flex left for the week - so I should be good, since I only have 2 days left out of my week. Alright...off to bed!

Great Night...

I wanted to start you off with my new favorite picture of Miss Charley...she loves these little squirty fish I bought for her bathtub for only like 90 cents...she carries one of them around all day long :)


Well today I made it to the gym even though I didn't think I was going to. I took it easy reading Dietgirl's book (which is a MUST READ!! more about this to come) for 20 min on the ArcTrainer and then for 25 min on the elliptical. Then I came home to shower and get ready for dinner out with friends.

We went to a sushi restaurant that Jimmy and I haven't been to yet - it was amazing. The food and drinks and dessert were delish!! Totally worth the points and the company was even better!! We have already set a date for the same place in March (we had to skip a month as it cost us each $76 for the meal total!!)

Here is my menu - we are watching BL on Tivo then heading to bed as we both have long days at work tomorrow and a 4 mile run to complete tomorrow night.

Oh yeah!! Thank you all for your help with my iPod -- I didn't go to Apple today - I decided to reset my Ipod and try it for the next 2 weeks and see how it goes, if it happens again then I will take it in before the warranty is up.

GRRRR....

I am not too happy...see my iPod had froze on me once before...and well it did it again in the middle of my 4 mile run tonight. So there I was at 3.2 miles or so, with no music, no Nike+, NOTHING. It is so frustrating - I haven't even had it a year!!

So I come home and call Apple and they patch me through - well to hold for 10 minutes - to find out they will fix it or repair it for free - but they want me to pay $32 to ship it to them! WHAT it weighs next to nothing and I know shipping with insurance at the post office would be an eighth of that price!

I tell them I am going to take it to the store and take my chances with them there - if they can't help me they will then charge me the $32 to send it away. They say I'll get it back within 8-10 business days - well that could be 5-6 runs...no way. I don't know what I am going to do if the store can't help me tomorrow. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that my appointment (yes I had to make an appointment) goes well tomorrow at Apple at 445pm. I am hoping whomever helps me likes cute babies :) heck, I have to work all the angles!!

All in all I think I did pretty good on my workout being that the last 3/4 of a mile I was trying not to throw my iPod across the room!! It made the end of the run fly by since I was busy playing with my iPod (well smacking it around anyway). The time on the treadmill said I did my run in 38m 20s. Which is only 9s faster then my last 4 mile run - but usually I go by my Nike+ time not the treadmill time - since the distances are usually a little off too. So who knows.

My Nike+ didn't even record the amount of the run I completed before it froze either...GRRRR....

Here is my menu...I have 2.5 AP's to save. We are going out to dinner with friends tomorrow night - which will be our day of rest this week from training - so I am sure I will use some of my leftover AP's and flex tomorrow :)

I am off to bed early for 2 nights in a row...sleep is wonderful :)

Well today flew by - not what I like for my Sunday - but oh well.

Good news - Charley slept GREAT last night! She slept from 8pm until 7:30am this morning!! Which is about an hour and a half later then she usually sleeps! She must have been tired after no naps yesterday!

Today my best friend from home came down to have brunch and see us and Charley. It was great catching up with her. She stayed until I had to leave for my basketball double header - at which my team decided that we are too old for double headers!!

10pm Really!?!

Well today was a rough day - well let me start over - last night was rough. Charley didn't want to sleep unless we held her. I don't know what it was, a combo of the cold or the fact that when she laid flat in her bed she kept coughing. So Jimmy and I took turns holding her and sleeping in the recliner in her room with her on our chest. I couldn't sleep in the chair anymore and as much as I am against bringing her in our bed, I did it. I was EXHAUSTED. She slept for a little longer then was up for the morning at about 6:30 which is when I get up for my WW meeting.

I was down 1.2 pounds! So I don't know what went on last week - probably too much processed food, but I am glad it went my way this week and I am going to do my darndest to make it stay that way.

Today was our long run day of 5 miles. I did it in 48m 13s here is my Nike+. I had to walk once I hit the 4 mile mark because my knee hurt - I only walked for 1 minute - I know it hurt because I didn't have time to properly warm up. See I got to the gym at 6:05pm when it closes at 7pm - and only had 55 minutes to run my 5 miles and I knew that I would be cutting it close.


Next week we are on for two 4 mile runs during the week along with 2 days of cross training and lifting and a long run of 6 miles next Saturday.

Here is my menu for today - I ate a lot of points, but we went out to dinner at the last minute since we were both so tired - now I am GOING TO BED!! Yeah!! Please keep your fingers crossed that Charley sleeps like an angel tonight :)

Short & Sweet

I missed my first workout in 3 weeks of my 1/2 marathon training...kind of bummed about it, but I spent the day at home (when I was supposed to be at work) with Charley who is having a tough time with a cold and teething her back teeth - family definitely comes first and I wouldn't have given up the cuddle time with her for the world. Thursday Already...

That is fine with me!! Today I was out of the office and work flew by!

I have to go to DC once a week for work and when we were there last week for a show at the improv I saw this new restaurant that I just had to try when I was there this week for work. It is called Chop't it is a salad bar restaurant! It was awesome!!I got a HUGE and I mean HUGE salad (ok it did cost me almost $10). But the reason it was so pricey was that I was there at lunch rush and was all flustered so I just picked a bunch of toppings that sounded yummy - well most of them weren't free ones...oops. I had a salad of mesculin greens, romaine & spinach w/ feta, Cajun chicken, white beans, grapes, granny smith apples, corn and carrots w/ low fat balsamic vinaigrette. It was delish!

I still have 1/3 of it left! I ate what I could for lunch which wasn't much - gave my Dad 1/2 of what was left to take home with him and the rest is in the fridge for me tomorrow. I will def go back there! Here are some pics of my salad...since I can't have a camera or my cell at work - and I was out of the office and in the car I decided to take pictures of my food with my camera phone :)


Tonight I went on a 3.5 mile run with Roni it was a great run - not too cold out and we ran through a new neighborhood, well not new - but new for us to run through. The run flew by because we were talking the entire time and running in a new place always makes time go by quicker. I really didn't want to go out and run - but boy am I glad I did. I feel great now. Alright - we are off to watch Lost which we tivoed last night since Jimmy had to work. I can't wait to see it!!

Wednesday - day 2 without Jimmy :(

Today flew by - work was work - I went to lunch with a friend I haven't seen in months so that was nice. I got to pick where to go, so we went to Panera where I got the 'you pick 2' though 10 points was more then I wanted to spend on lunch, it was delicious, filling and healthy and each of the 3 items I got were filling foods :)

Jimmy works at the bar tonight - so no Jimmy 2 nights in a row :( Tomorrow we are carpooling to work and will get to spend the time on the drive together and then when we get home I have a running date with Roni for our 3.5 mile run. Hopefully it will be a little warmer out tomorrow night.

My parents are here watching Charley tomorrow - which is good, because she doesn't seem to be feeling too well...we think it is her teeth or some type of growth spurt - the side teeth are coming in and she has been napping for really long stretches too. So at least since it is my parents we don't have to worry if she gets a fever or something, plus she gets to nap in her own bed.

Next Friday we are going skiing! I can't wait because last year I didn't get to go skiing because I was pregnant. So I hope we have some good weather. It should be a lot of fun, as of now there are 6 of us going.

Alright I am trying to get in bed early...well before midnight I guess is early these days.

Here is my menu - I used 5.5 of my AP/Flex - no biggie. It was my day of rest from training so I didn't earn my average 5 or so Ap's if I would have worked out I would have been even, so I am not worried - I have the points to use and that is what they are there for. I am going to try something new with my menu tomorrow - I am going to put a * next to each food that is a filling food, so I can see how many I am eating per day.

Tuesday...

It was a great day today - got in some naps, had the stairwell wall painted (will post a pic once it is all decorated), took 5 bags to Goodwill, started going through all of Charley's millions of clothes, worked out, made a delicious dinner and I am now watching Biggest Loser.

Jimmy is skiing with a friend of ours, so he won't be home until late and I have a few more things to do before I go to bed so this will be short. Also, I got Dietgirl's book from the library today, so I am looking forward to reading some before I go to bed. I tried to read some at the gym, but I find it tough to keep up my pace on the arc trainer while reading, so I had to put the book down. I feel as if I can only read if I am on the bike and I am not a fan of the stationary bike - I don't feel like I get a good enough workout.

Alright, off to finish the Biggest Loser and get my butt to bed. Here is my menu for today...I am not going to have to use all of my AP's and won't have to dip into my flex either today. I am going to have another little snack either some Bryers Free or some pudding. GO TEAM LYNN!!

Great Lazy Day...

Well today was a great lazy day off. My wonderfully amazing husband got up with Charley this morning and let me sleep in - then when she went back to take her early morning nap he came back to bed and we didn't get out of bed until 11am!!! The last time we were able to do that was before Charley was born.

Charley even had a lazy day today - her morning nap was from 1030 until 130!! Then she took another nap from 430ish until 630!

We made it to the gym after she got up from her evening nap and did our day 1 of week 3 for our 1/2 marathon training and did our 3.5 mile run. Here is my Nike+ - there are no details with this run because I liked the background that comes up first - but if I go to the run details it goes away. I did this 3.5 miles in 33m 25s :)

Woah...

Woah - I used 21 of my 35 flex points yesterday - Guess I need to exercise a lot this week! For some reason the tool I use for my menu every day isn't working so this doesn't total up my points like usual - but here it is

54 points total - minus my 8 points for my 5 mile run puts me at 46 - minus my 25 daily points puts me at a grand total of 21 weekly flex points used.

Here is my Nike+ from my 5 mile run...it is funny how up and down the little line is...since I did 6MPH on the treadmill the entire way :)


Oh well, it is over and done with now and I was conscious of all the decisions I was making - I had a great time and enjoyed my date with Jimmy and having dinner at my favorite restaurant (from back when we lived in Virginia). So as of today, day 2 of my week I am at 14 flex left for the week.

I earned 3 AP's today and am not going to use them as it is already 9pm and I still have 3 points left to eat for the day - so now I am up having 17 points left for the week. I'm ok with that - since I have week 4 of our 1/2 marathon training this week and only have a day off on Wednesday.

I tweeted Roni to let her know about the menu tool error - so I am not going to post my menu for today until it is fixed, but as soon as it is - it will be up.

I am done 2 weeks of tracking every day - 10 more to go. And I am done 3 weeks of our 1/2 marathon training with only 9 more weeks to go!!

Tomorrow is a holiday - and Jimmy is off too - so we have another relaxing family day :) YEAH!

Good Run - Good Eating Day - Good All Around

So we had our 2nd 3.5 mile run today and it went well - I did about 2 minutes better then Tuesday's run - though this one was inside on the treadmill, by myself with no one to talk to - so not as fun - but it got the job done! Here is my Nike+ Oh! I hit the 100 mile mark for my Nike+ on Tuesday night! Now on for 200!


I did really well eating today - right now I have earned an extra 4 AP's that with the new plan I can carry over to tomorrow - which is great because there is a possibility that I might need them tomorrow night as we are going out with a bunch of friends to the comedy club. I hope I won't need them especially since I still have some flex points left and will earn some more AP's tomorrow night before we go out. But they are there just in case.

So tonight I made dinner - turkey sloppy joes - and I went to recipe builder to find out the points - well the whole recipe was 15 points and breaking it into 3 servings and it said each serving was FOUR POINTS! I don't get it. Juice had a post on it the other day when the same thing happened to her. She upped the points just in case - not me :) I am going to ask my leader on Saturday about it to see what she has to say.

Oh tomorrow I only have to work 4 hours :) so it will be a great Friday! Then I am going to go and get a pedicure before I pick up Charley...I can't wait!

I don't think I am much else to report today - it was a pretty regular day - with work, the gym and then dinner. Oh, poor Charley's nose is running again so we might need to take her to the Dr's tomorrow. It just seems the colds won't go away. I can't wait until it gets warm out and she stops being sick.

Beat...

Sorry for the lack of a post last night - but after my run with Roni (check out the Nike+ below) I came home, Jimmy made me dinner and I fell asleep 1/2 way through the Biggest Loser! I never fall asleep during a show that I love as much as the BL! I was beat!


I think I am still in need of more sleep, but I need to do a few things before bed, like get this post up, finish Sarah's baby gift, work on baby gifts for a shower I have on Sunday and get some letters painted. So this will be short.

Tonight is my night off from working out - back at it tomorrow night with another 3.5 mile run.

Week 3 Day 1

Of our 1/2 marathon training. I did it solo tonight. Jimmy has been having bad headaches so he went to the Dr's - all is well. I did cross training tonight, though I should have done a 3.5 mile run, but tomorrow I am meeting Roni to run outside (brrr!) so I switched my Monday with my Tuesday.

Work today FLEW BY! It was great and I feel so much better now only working 8.5 hour days. Plus I worked a little over today - so I think on Friday I am only going to have to work 5 hours. So that will be a nice work day too - I think I am going to go in early and meet Jimmy for lunch, then head home to get Charley.

Thank you all for your advice on the babysitter thing. I bit the bullet and told her - and though I think she is a little put aside (since she seems to think she won't be working until the end of Feb - since the job market is so bad now) she understood. I just feel bad because I am sure she could use the money. But you are all right in the fact that I need to put Charley first so that is what I did.

Tomorrow is my day off - and I don't have to watch my friends daughter so it will just be me and Charley. We have our contractor coming tomorrow though to put in the toilet and sink/vanity in the bathroom downstairs that we are trying to get finished - but he should be done by noon. After that Charley and I are heading out to run some errands - the mall, Trader Joes and the post office.

Short Post...

Short post tonight - I have a lot still left to do and it is 8:15pm...so this is going to be short.

Went and lifted today and had a basketball game. We lost by 5 it was a really close game and I can make a promise to you that we won't lose to them again. That is the kind of team we are - we won't let them get us twice.

We had a nice dinner out with friends and I didn't get to check out the points of meals before I went - so I did my best of guessing. I got grilled shrimp with rice and veggies and french onion soup and didn't eat all of it. So my points could have been a lot worse. I killed a few too many weekly points this weekend then I would have liked, but I shouldn't use as many this week so I should be ok.

Check!

4 mile long run - CHECK!

Completed an entire week of tracking - CHECK!

Completed our 2nd week of 1/2 marathon training - CHECK!

Lost 2.6 pounds - DOUBLE CHECK!!

Today was another great day!

I got up and went to my meeting and was down 2.6 pounds! See what tracking gets you... :) Good thing I am on for 3 months of tracking in my new tracker...I might not need to finish the book if these types of losses keep up!!

Also our leader did something new to start off the new year, she bought a 3 month tracker to use as the traveling journal. Every week a different meeting member takes the journal and tracks in it all week. The motivation behind this is first to track all week and to be aware that everyone else that uses it will get to read what you ate! So I have it this week! I will definitely track all week again and hopefully will see another big loss next week!

Next we went to go and pick up our NEW CAR! We went and picked it up and also got the oil changed in our other car. So that was good to get out of the way. Charley stayed with my friend while we got the car since we knew we'd be sitting at a desk for a little while filling out paperwork and it is hard to have a fidget monster like her in your lap when you are filling out paperwork!

We picked Charley up and came home - she had lunch and we had a snack then we headed to the gym for our weekly long run. I finished my 4 mile run in under 40 minutes!! It felt so good afterwards. Here is my Nike+ (I told you I wouldn't forget my sensor again!!) The run details aren't in this picture, but here is what they are: Distance: 4.02 miles, Time 38m 29s, Pace 9m 34s mile average, 590 calories burned.


We also got some good news at the gym. See during the week when I am at work here is who watches Charley - Monday's either my parents or Jimmy's mom comes and watches her, Tuesday's I am home with her and sometimes I watch my friends daughter, Wednesday when I work my friend (whose daughter I watch) watches Charley, then Thursday's and every other Friday our neighbor friend watches her and we pay her.

Well our neighbor friend told us the other day that she has to get a full time job and can no longer watch Charley. Well...I freaked! I just started my new job where I had to go from working 2 days a week to 3 (he requires me to be there 3 days a week...that was a stipulation of the job) and now we only have someone to watch her 2 days a week!!

Well Charley goes to the day care at the gym while we are there and all of the ladies that work there are so nice. Well the one that was there today we have talked to before and she lives right near us and has 3 kids, so while I was running on the treadmill I was thinking, why don't I ask her if she knows of anyone, because she has kids and she lives near us. So when we went in to pick up Charley I asked her...and she said she could watch her!! I am so excited!! We love her, she lives close and has kids Charley can play with!!

Now here is where I need your opinion. Our neighbor friend that says she needs to get a full time job, told us that she is just going to start looking and when she finds a new job, she'll let us know and she will give us 2 weeks notice to fins someone else to watch Charley. Well I don't want to put off the new girl from the gym who said she could watch her, since she is helping us out, I don't want to leave her hanging on when Charley will be coming to her. So do I just flat out tell the neighbor lady that we found someone and Charley won't be coming to her anymore after this week? I feel bad, but it is something we need to have taken care of and be sure about. I don't know what to do. eh. Please give me any advice!!

After the gym, we headed to AT&T to get new phones. Jimmy currently has AT&T and I have Verizon, but with my new job I get 45% off new phones and 20% off the plans with AT&T so I am switching!! Well the phones we wanted weren't in stock, they said they'd have them in early in the week. So I am excited to get a phone that will have internet and email :)

Then we came home to shower and get ready - me to go to my friends house for the Ravens game and Jimmy to go to work at the bar.

Now I am back from the football party - at which I only had 3 mini cookies and a diet coke :)

Oh and I got some AWESOME news from Jimmy tonight. We were planning on going to Costa Rica this fall. Well Jimmy found out that his boss at the bar has a house there. Yes, a house in Costa Rica...must be nice!! Well Jimmy was going to ask him about it and where he thought we should stay etc...well he offered us his house to stay at FOR FREE!!! I am SO EXCITED!! Now we just need to decide how long we want to go and if we want to take Charley with us or not. I really want to, but there are a bunch of things we want to do while we are there that don't include a 1 year old. :( So we'll need to see what we can figure out. A bunch of my friends have offered to come and babysit! :)

Now I am off on a mission which my friend Margie is also on...the declutter mission for the new year...well mine is starting with the closet. I have been putting it off now for months, time to bite the bullet! If I don't post tomorrow, please send the search party...I might be buried under piles of clothes!!

Here is my menu from today - The next person to get the traveling journal, is going to think all I eat are sweets!! :) But I can have all the sweets I want if I count the points! Though I know they aren't the best for me all the time...but I need to to some major grocery shopping tomorrow so you will see a BIG change in my foods over the next few days!

It's OVER...

The car shopping that is!!! WOOHOO!! Tonight we bought a car. Here it is. I love it. And we got an amazing deal :) thanks to my hard work and lots of emailing...


Today was a great day - Got up with Charley and did a few things...then she took a nap and so did I. From 9am until NOON!! I was so happy...and rested. It was wonderful. Then we ate lunch and went to the gym. We were planning on getting to the gym by 1 so I could have an hour to workout and then this happened...Charley learned something new while I was in the bathroom putting my hair up. Since we usually keep the bathroom door closed...here is what she discovered she could do if she gets in there...


Since the the daycare closes from 2-4 when we finally got there I only had 4o minutes to work out. All I had to do today was 30 minutes of cross training and I did 35 and some ab work. Then we were off to run some errands and meet Jimmy to finish up our car shopping. Now we are home, Charley is asleep and I am going to go to bed :) Weigh in tomorrow. It should be good, since I tracked all week and still have a few AP's and weekly points left.

Check me out!!

I ran my 3 miles tonight in...ready for this...25 minutes and 50 seconds!!!! I was pumped...but here is the killer - I forgot the sensor for my Nike+!!! I was SO MAD! So now I am just going to have to run it that fast again so I can show you all my Nike+ graph. I am mad because I don't have the miles to add to my Nike+ account and the fast mileage to bring up my mileage time too. Oh well. At least now I know I will never forget it again. So you all will just have to believe I ran that fast :)

Speaking of everyone out there that reads my blog...YOU ALL ROCK!! Last night I was all bummed because I went out to eat again and only got to go on a jog with the dogs and my night got all messed up. But then I get to read your comments today about how you all thought I had such a great NSV...I never thought about it that way. Thanks so much to all of you for your awesome support!!

We went to the Nissan dealer tonight to continue the car hunt...and I STILL HATE CAR SHOPPING and we still don't have a new car. But maybe we will figure something out tomorrow night. I HATE CAR SHOPPING for many reasons, but I think the biggest one now is that it is screwing up our scheduled workouts and nightly time with Charley - I mean Charley is with us, but it isn't fun quality time when we are sitting at a desk at a car dealer. Did I mention I HATE CAR SHOPPING!?

Here is what...

A run with 3 dogs looks like on my Nike+


As you can see there was a little pit stop at the beginning - but then they were all pretty good!


Here it is with the stats. Slow - but heck I did it. Here is how my night went and I am proud that I got out for 30 minutes and ran - well jogged some then sprinted some is probably more along the lines of how it went.

So here is how the night went...
  • I found out around lunch time that our Thursday babysitter for Charley was sick - so we had to do some damage control and my parents were wonderful enough to come down again and watch her for us
  • I leave work at 5 after a 10 hour day (in the middle of which I decided I couldn't do 10 hour days anymore - so I think I am going to work every other Friday too - not what I want to do...but what are you going to do) and have a pretty uneventful drive home - I walk in the door and Jimmy leaves to go work at the bar and my parents want to know if I want to go to dinner.
  • I had planned on coming home taking Charley to the gym and fixing dinner at home, giving her a bath, putting her to bed then getting some things done and going to bed. But after I find out my parents are coming to watch her things changed.
  • We go to TGI Fridays...I get a low fat and pretty healthy meal of French Onion Soup and Dragonfire Chicken (which comes with brown rice, pineapple salsa and broccoli).
  • We get home - my mom helps me give Charley a bath - then put her to bed.
  • Then I have to walk the dogs...I am thinking I am never going to get to the gym...but I had to workout per our 1/2 marathon training and since we missed last night...
  • So I decide I will take the dogs for a run - what was on our training schedule was Cross Training or 2 Miles.
  • So we head out - at least it stopped raining - though I came back with soaking wet running shoes and wet dogs that I had just given baths to the other night.
  • Well we ran for about 2 1/2 miles - which is good - because it wasn't a full on run the entire time. And heck it was better then the alternative of not getting any AP's, going out to dinner and sitting on my butt.
  • So all in all tonight was successful - not as hard of a workout as if I would have gone to the gym...but I did something.
Tomorrow night we are off to the gym then to the Nissan dealership. I hate car shopping and just want to get this all over with.

Well...

We didn't go to the gym tonight - we are on our own for tomorrow to do our cross training that we had to do today - no biggie. What did we do - we went car shopping - not fun. We did go to CarMax and get an appraisal on my car which was a little more then expected...so we'll see. We love the new Pilot which is what we went to see - but we aren't so in love with the price.

As for eating I used 6 flex - if we would have gone to the gym, I would have only used 1 flex...but oh well, so is life. We even ate out at Chick-fil-a because we needed to feed Charley before we went to the 2nd car dealer and we knew we could get her some chicken and fruit there. We did a good compromise there though...I really wanted a yummy sandwich - but I ended up getting a REALLY GOOD salad - the southwest salad. Then Jimmy and I got a 6 piece nugget to share and a small fry to share so that we could each have some yummy bad for you food...but not too much. If we didn't do that I would have used only .5 flex...so was it worth it? I'll let you know when I get to Friday and don't have any weekly points left ;) Just kidding - it was good and I was glad we did it how we did and I didn't get the 8 point sandwich I wanted. We have to go to the gym Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - so I will have AP's from those days, so I should be good.

I am not a fan...

Of the "New Year Resolutioners" who come to the gym and hog the cardio machines so we have to wait 10 minutes to get a treadmill - all while our hour of Charley's daycare at the gym is ticking away.

Once we finally got treadmills we both did our personal best times running our 3 mile run for our first day of week 2 of our 1/2 marathon training. Jimmy ran his in 22 minutes and 9 seconds. I ran mine in 28 minutes 40 seconds. Tiger Woods even gave me props :) Here is my Nike+


My first day at my new job went well. Everyone was incredibly nice - it was different though being in the office I was in because there are only like 10 employees and it was VERY quiet. At my old job at the schoolhouse, there were always tons of people around who came by and chatted all the time - I am going to miss that. But the office I was at today was just the corporate office - I will be at my actual office on Wednesday, so we'll see how that goes.

I don't really have much more to say - I have to go downstairs and install the new floor in the basement bathroom so when the contractor comes tomorrow he can put in the toilet and sink.

Sunday...Really!?

I'm sad, there are no more holiday's or vacation to look forward to...

Tomorrow is my first day of work and we are picking up a rental car at the airport at 6am tomorrow morning and I am heading to Virginia for my day full of orientation meetings. Hopefully it will go by fast.

So this post is going to be short...

Today we went to look at cars only to find out that all car dealers are closed on Sunday...why? that is when most people have off of work and have time to go and look at cars...anyway, we still don't know what we are going to do about my car - we should know more tomorrow.

We did our last day of our first week of 1/2 marathon training today - we had to do strength training. We did a whole body strength training workout and though I am feeling ok now...tomorrow might be a different story. Here is our schedule for week 2...

Monday - 3 mile run
Tuesday - Cross Train (I think I am going to take a Body Jam Dance Class at the gym)
Wednesday - Rest Day
Thursday - 3 mile run - strength

4 Miles...

Down...we did our first 'long run' for our 1/2 marathon training today! Before we left I told Jimmy I had planned on running and walking maybe twice during the run...but he challenged me to NO walking...he said if I had to slow down, to slow to 5mph and slowly jog - and I DID IT! I know I ran 6 miles back in October without a problem...but since the pneumonia I haven't been able to run that many in a row. Anyways...I did 4 miles in under 40 minutes. Here is my Nike+


So after tomorrow we are done week 1 of training and have only 11 weeks to go!

Today at my WW meeting I was down .6 lbs, not great, but still down. I made a promise to myself today - I bought a 3 month journal and am filling it in UNTIL IT IS FULL. I am tracking wheather good or bad for the next 90 days - that is my commitment to myself. That will take me until right after my 30th birthday and I want to be at my goal by my 30th birthday - so that is my plan.

I also joined the 2nd BLBE challenge today! Go and join!! We are doing teams and that will take us through the end of April. Just in time for spring.

I also went to AC Moore tonight after dinner and bought some stickers to put on my Fitbook pages for after we complete a workout. I bought Shamrocks (for the Shamrock 1/2 marathon that we are running) and some stars. Just a little more motivation.

Oh - and today we found out that the computer on my car is dead. This has been an ongoing "we can't figure out what is wrong with your car" thing since it died on the way to work on December 1st....they have had it for 2 weeks now. And now they say it is going to cost $3K to fix it. We are going to see how much a used part is and go from there - we are worried that other things will go wrong with it since it has 150K miles on it and is almost 7 years old...so we might be forking over some serious money either in the fix it department or the new car department. Not exactly what we needed at this time, but oh well there is a reason for everything right? I have to get us a rental car for at least Monday though, since I have my first day of my new job and have to go to orientation in VA for the day, so Jimmy and I can't exactly carpool.

I know I didn't post a menu last night, but there was just so much going on...I did track - just didn't have time to post...the challenge is on for this week too - to post a menu every day - so lets see if I can do it!!

Alright - tonight is quality time night - aka beat Jimmy at Guitar Hero and enjoy my 3 one point beers!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Today I got up early with Charley so that Jimmy could sleep in since he didn't get home from the bar until about 4:30am! We went and ran some errands and then came home to get ready for the Resolution Run! It went really well I averaged a 9:45 minute mile by my Nike+(9:56 mile by the race results online) which is the more accurate since there was no chip timing. I finished in 30:44 - I could have done better - but I was pushing Charley in the jogging stroller - which is like pushing 30 lbs! Oh and there was a killer hill too! So needless to say I got a workout!


I texted Roni at about 12 noon and asked if she wanted to come and run and she did! I am so glad she came, we ran together until the end when she wanted to beat 30 min so she took off - it was nice to have someone to run with :) She kept checking on Charley for me while we were running - and Charley was just chillin and talking up a storm as usual :) She is a great running buddy!

A friend of mine (one of our relay partners from the marathon) his girlfriend took some pictures of us after the run - so if they send them I will post them when I get them.

I was really bummed when we got back to the car after our run though. I lost my new ear warmer that Jimmy got me for Christmas! I loved it! :( He said he will get me a new one though, but I still feel bad.

So our 3rd day of training is complete - tomorrow we have 30 minutes of cross training then lifting...then our long run of 4 miles is on Saturday. I hope it is a little warmer then today or we will be running it on the treadmill which is fine with me!
