Well we talked him up big time - told her she was going to get to go and see him. We even watched him on Dora...sigh. She was excited. Well as excited as one wee one can be and not really get it. So we get her dressed and ready to go...we ask her "are you going to sit on Santa's lap?" she replies with her normal 'uh huh'. Then the entire car ride there which is seriously 4 minutes - she kept saying "see Santa" "see Santa"
Well we get to the mall at 5:15 hoping to beat the after work crowd and we find a line about 10 people deep and a sign that says Santa will be back at 6. Grr... So I wait in line while Jimmy wanders around the mall with Charley and then Charley throws about $20 worth of pennies in the fountain. 6 o'clock rolls around she comes back and gets in line, as we edge closer to the front the 'uh huh' turns to a 'no'. oh geez.

Then we meet the little boy in front of us in line, he is 18 months old...he is going to sit on Santa's lap first I'm glad, she can watch and I just hope he doesn't scream his head off...
Well he does great - SMILES actually. Though as she is watching him sit on Santa's lap - she turns into Little Miss Cuddle - buries her head in Jimmy's shoulder and has a death grip on him and George (yes we told her she could bring George with her to see Santa - I am thinking this is what saved her from screaming her head off - like she did with the Easter Bunny).

So here we go - we weren't getting suckered into the expensive picture packages this year like we were last year. Once we found out we could go up for free and take our own pictures, I was all over it.
Jimmy takes her up and puts her on Santa's lap - she blows him a kiss!!

Then she just sits there waiting for it to be over and wondering why in the world we would make her do such a thing.

But she survived!! And she still talks about Santa every day...so I think we are safe :)

Awww, that is so cute! My kids didn't see Santa this year. I feel bad about that too... but I don't think anything would keep them from screaming! lol
OMG I love her blowing him a kiss! And she looks SO tall sitting on santas lap! I can't believe how big she is. Love it. Also love that she threw $20 of pennies into the fountain. So fun.
Where do you take them that you can take your own pictures? That's wonderful! I always feel so used and dirty paying $$$ for Santa pictures.
I live in Bel Air. Is it somewhere close by?
Crystal - I tried to go to your blogger profile, but it is blocked, so I hope you check back here. We take her to White Marsh Mall - they try to sell you the picture packages while you are waiting in line, but we said no thanks. And the kids get to go and sit on his lap and still get their little gift too. We were informed after we were done that we were only allowed to take 2 pictures if we weren't paying for any of their pictures, but i snapped about 20 in the 30 seconds we were there - so just be quick and snap away :)
Love the pictures!! Charley is getting so big. We also have a George doll and some mornings I ask Lily and Mikayla if she wants to watch George so I can get ready and Lily says "George, George"!
Ha, sounds like she felt like she should be excited about it, but didn't quite get why she was doing it!
