My First Giveaway...

Here it goes...this giveaway is two fold. I am trying this as a fundraiser for my Susan G. Komen 3 day walk and to give away something I recently had gotten for myself and love.

So after Charley was born I wanted to get a piece of jewelery to wear, to keep her with me at all times. Well I looked and looked and didn't find anything I liked. See I am not a big jewelry wearer. I wear my wedding/engagement rings, my diamond studs Jimmy gave me for our 1st Valentine's day and a watch. So I wanted something not too fancy or expensive - but unique and personal. Well that is when I was searching on Etsy for something...and came across Georgia Jewels.

Joanna at Georgia Jewels makes these awesome silver stamped necklaces.

I knew it was perfect. I could get Charley's name on it and get her birthsone, mine and Jimmy's. PERFECT! So I contacted Joanna and she made a custom order for me and within a week I had my awesome necklace and I have worn it every day since! :)

So for my very first giveaway - I am going to give the winner their very own Georgia Jewels stamped necklace...stamped with whatever your heart desires. You can have a word put on it, a name, pet's name, date or anything you want! You can also pick up to 4 bead colors.

Here is how you can enter...there are many ways to get more entries...so stick with me on this one :)

You can get one entry for each of the following:
  • Posting about this contest on your blog and linking back to it and leaving me a comment telling me you did so with a link to your blog so I can take a look
  • Subscribing or following my blog and leaving me a comment letting me know (if you already subscribe or follow just leave a comment saying that too!)
  • Leave a comment with what you would have stamped on your charm if you won and what color beads you'd get :)
Now for the tricky part :)

Since I am walking in the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure and I have to raise $2300 I am going to give you one extra entry for every $5 you donate to the Walk for the Cure through my website link at the top of this page. I am not a fan of asking for money from people, but just think you'll get more chances to win an awesome necklace and in turn donate to a very good cause!!

If you donate please come back here and leave your name or email address so I can look up how much you donated and give you your proper number of entries. Also I will need a way to contact you if you win.

For those of you who already donated - please leave a comment reminding me, if you would like to be entered in the giveaway for your donation.

The contest will end at midnight on the 3rd of April - next Friday night. Depending on the number of entries I will either use the random number generator to pick the individual or I will put them in a hat and attempt to have Charley pick one :)

Alright...I am off to play with my Mac!

Ooooo cool. I believe I am entered many times for this one. I'll promo it soon too for another. I think I would have max or lil elephant or something on mine. I'd have to look up colors. Add my donation & I'm a follower. So ya, I just need to link to you. Does my link from before promoting your cause last week count? It's titled Help My Friends.

Great giveaway!! I like!!

1) Oh my goodness I love that necklace!! I'm not sure what word I'd have put on it -- hope or love or something like that perhaps. Then for the beads I'd probably do a light blue or green.

2) I'm a follower!

3) I'm going to donate right now (though a bigger donation will be coming later)

4) Just posted! http://pointsandpounds.blogspot.com/2009/03/carries-awesome-giveaway.html

Whew... I think I got everything. I'm so excited for you and your give away!

Awesome giveaway. I think it's great. The necklace is really awesome.

I would take silver, purple, green on beads. The word would require more thought.

I subscribed to your blog. And posted about the contest at http://dragonsloss.blogspot.com/2009/03/contest.html

And, I'll definitely be doing a donation to your walk!

What a beautiful necklace. I love it! Well since I am already a follower and I have already made a donation just put my name in the hat. I like the simplicity of love with the birthstones. What a great idea.

that's a great necklace, I have something similar with the word Lucky on it, with my kid's birthstones.

I would love a new one with the word SERENITY with my own birthstone Ruby (red) on it.

So sweet that you are doing a giveaway and that it's for a great cause. Those necklaces are so beautiful!

I would get mine stamped with the word "Curiosity" or "Wanderer" because I find both of those words to be really empowering. They motivate and inspire me to WANT to go places and experience new things and step out of my comfort zone and learn about life in general.

The red is lovely, although I do like the idea of the birth stone color (mines sapphire). And I love the pearl bead!

PS I've subscribed to your blog :)
