My baby is officially ONE!

Here is the Birthday Girl...
Charley's party was a blast!! There were a few mishaps...well one big one on my part, but other then that the party was a great success!!Here are a few of my fav pics from the day...
As usual, the most interesting thing out of all of the gifts...the bows. And then later we spent a good hour playing with tissue paper :)
Jimmy and I gave her this pink polka dot chair from Pottery Barn Kids for her birthday (her only gift from us), it is embroidered with her name and she LOVES it. I am so glad she likes it, it was a pretty penny, but we hope to use it for multiple kids - we'd just have to buy a new cover - and we are sure we'd have to replace the cover after a year of use anyway. So I sat next to her helping her open her presents - she got disinterested quick and decided to stand up and jump in the chair.
Here is her one attempt at opening a present. That was enough present opening for her :)
The personal birthday cake I made for Charley...here is where the mishap comes into play. We brought Charley's high chair into the living room, lit the candle, sang and let her have at her cake. Well lets just say it would have helped if I would have made sure to snap the high chair tray on. Yep...she took 2 little bites of icing off the top of the cake then the whole high chair tray flipped off onto the floor flipping the cake and all of its glorious hot pink frosting onto the - vacuumed this morning, but still has dog hair on it - carpet. Yes, the whole cake hit the floor and was covered in dog hair...and yes there are still pink icing stains in the carpet. And yes, Jimmy got it on video. Way to go Mom.
On a side note - I took the cake into the kitchen after scraping it up off the carpet and cut out the middle of it and gave it to her on her LOCKED in high chair tray. She ate some of it and seemed to like it - though she was a little taken aback by everyone staring at her and oohing and ahhing and then someone said 'good girl' and she started clapping for herself :) So yes Jeannie - you can clap for yourself after eating a cookie...and cake too :)
Here is the birthday girl enjoying her favorite gift from my brother Uncle Chris and his wife Aunt Melissa. Let me tell you - she can play for a long time with this kitchen. Just watch out - I thought I lost my cell phone...but it was in the microwave :)
Here is the birthday girl with her Grandpa (my Dad) and her cupcake pop. She saw me making these that morning and kept pointing at them because she wanted one. And she finally got to enjoy hers, though she probably only ate about 1/3 of it :) **More to come on these in a later post...I made them for her party and the baby shower the weekend before...and they were a hit!!**
Here is one my my most favorite pictures from the day...Charley and my best friend/roommate from college. They love each other - it is so funny and wonderful. All in all, the party was a success, everyone seemed to have a good time - Charley was over her fever and she seemed to love the attention. (Thanks to everyone for the well wishes for Charley when I wrote about her fever!) She was exhausted after the party, as were we!! She got a lot of great clothes, shoes and a few toys. She is set for bathing suits for the pool for this summer too and even got her first pair of flip flops!!
Also - the wonderful Sarah and Max sent Charley a birthday package from California!! It arrived on her birthday 10 minutes before her party - talk about perfect timing!! It was so cute!! A Happy Birthday Minnie Mouse and an onesie from Disneyland with a pair of jeans to match!! It is too cute and I will have a picture of Charley to post in the outfit soon!! I just have to wash it and then we will do our photo shoot!! Thanks Sarah and Max!!
Alright - I am off to bed...it is late and the kiddos wore me out today. I have a bunch of other things to post about, so hopefully I will have time this week to get them up!!
Have a great week everyone!!

OH wow I just LOVED looking at all those photos. She looks SO cute in her polka dot dress! And SO happy. You can really see the love in all the photos!! How fun to celebrate a first birthday. I can't wait for that too. Oh and I love the PBK chairs!! I was looking at them too for Max when he is older. They have so many cute fabric choices! I am so glad the present arrived in time. I was wondering all weekend if it made it in time. I hope the outfit fits as I don't really have a concept of how fast they grow. I didn't know if the size was true to age, so I bought a little bigger. You know I had to represent Disneyland! I don't know if you noticed because I didn't till I got home, but the foot plays Happy Birthday on Minnie. She's part of the their new "What will you Celebrate" promo.
Okay so where is the video of the cake? Hehehe. :)
So cute! Great party.
Happy Birthday Charley!
Looks like you guys had a great time! CUTE chair! Glad you had fun!
