Happy Thanksgiving!
This week has not been a good week eating wise. Though I did go for a 2 mile run with Roni yesterday and tomorrow we are doing our annual 10K for MS. I hope I survive the 10K - I am sure I will - it is just that my lungs seem to hurt the day after a run since my pneumonia.
I am getting a little frustrated on waiting for one of 2 jobs to come through. I just want to know what is going to happen, so I can start planning. I hate not knowing.
I hope you all have a very Happy and safe Thanksgiving. I will be back to posting and everything that goes along with it on Friday.

Here is your daily dose of Charley - we had fun playing with a box today :) heehee
I did have a bunch of mishaps today though, it just seemed like one after another...WARNING baby poo talk ahead...
- Started the day off well - well as good as can be when Charley wakes up at 5am. But then she napped (and so did I!!) from 7:45-10:15!!
- Next on our plan was to meet Jimmy for lunch and then hit up Trader Joe's - I was also proactive and packed clothes to go to the gym on our way back - I figured Charley would take her afternoon nap in the car on the way back (about 30 min or so) and then be rested up for hopefully at least a 30-40 minute stint at the gym daycare
- Made it to see Jimmy and people at work - who just love to see Charley - then went to lunch
- After lunch I needed gas - headed for CostCo where gas was $1.85 a gallon!! I was pumped, there was a little of a line, but no biggie...then I realize I didn't bring my wallet!
- I thought it was in Jimmy's car - so back to work I went - it wasn't - It was at home
- So home we headed - as the car began to smell of baby poo...
- I decided not to just bag everything and went straight to the gym instead of home - only to find out that the gym daycare is closed from 2-4 every day - I got there at 2:30. Eh
- I asked if I could just change Charley in the women's room - they said no problem - and oh there was poo everywhere - always fun.
- We head home to change her clothes (I did have an extra set of clothes with me, but she barely got it on most of her clothes, so I thought it would be better to come home where I could clean her up more)
- After we were home I did get some things done - vacuumed the living room and stairs then we played some and I straightened up her room some
- My cousin was on her way for dinner - we were trying a new Italian place near my house - she made it here in time for me to walk the dogs - IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE
- Then we went to dinner - where Charley cried the entire way there (good thing it was close) I didn't feed her dinner because I wanted to feed her at the restaurant so she'd be occupied with something to do...so she was HUNGRY.
- Dinner went well - food was good - will def go back there. Company was good too. And once Charley got food in her tummy she was having a blast - there were 2 other little kids within sight of her - she was having fun flirting with them - it just cracks me up how little kids have 'little kid radar' and just love looking at and watching other little kids.
- Came home from dinner - tried to put Charley to bed...she was WIDE AWAKE - so she came down and hung out with my cousin and I
- We chatted while Charley played
- I tried to put her to bed a 2nd time...she was just about asleep...then MORE POO
- So I had to change her...then she was wide awake talking to me and making funny noises, so cute that I had to laugh a few times - which didn't help
- Finally got her to bed about an hour after her normal time...thank goodness she is still asleep
- I should be asleep but I wanted to try a new recipe that I was thinking of making for Thanksgiving dessert - oh boy was that a FAILURE - it fell apart and almost ended up on the kitchen floor. It is currently in the fridge so Jimmy can pick at it later if he wants to.
- I should have just given up and gone to bed when my cousin left - but nope - now I am up and it is after midnight and I need to be in bed! But I have to go and watch the very end of "Get Smart" which we rented a few nights ago - but I fell asleep...then to bed!

Back at it...
Did great with my menu today - I am not counting my AP's I am over by 3.5 for the day and am using my WPA.
Tomorrow I am watching my friends daughter at our house until 1 or so. This is the first time I am watching her at my house - hopefully it will go well. She crawls all over the place...our house isn't crawl proof yet - as Charley still has no desire to go anywhere. Charley now has FOUR teeth...they just keep coming :) I love when she smiles and you can see them.
Alright off to have some family time...I will post my final menu here before bed.

We Did it...
Since she has been sick, she has been going to bed around 6:30ish and after we got Jimmy signed up and Charley signed up for the day care room it was 6:30. They will watch her for an hour and about 40 minutes in they came to look for us, because she wouldn't stop crying. She never really cries, but since she has been sick she is crying a lot more - poor baby. So we took her home, she drank a whole bottle in the car, she was a hungry girl, but I know she wouldn't have drank the bottle there, because there were so many distractions.
She came home and went right to bed, she was a tired cookie. So we are going to try again on Saturday during the day to see how she does. I am sure she will do fine. I have to admit, I wanted to go and check on her many times during my workout or at least I kept looking towards the room where she was...but I never went in there until they came to get us. I am sure it will get easier for both of us. I am just glad we did it.
I had a semi-interview for a new job today - it was more of a informative lunch then anything. A friend recommended me for a job and the guy pretty much called me and said "it is yours if you want it" and he is willing to work with me part time too. The only catch is there is still a job possibility out there where I can work from home 5 days a week if a certain company wins a contract. They said they should hear before Thanksgiving. I am really hoping that will come through...I am keeping my fingers crossed, but it is nice to know that I have a back up if it doesn't come through.
I love my job now and love where I work, but things have changed since a new employer won our contract and they are planning on moving to another city in June and it is in a not-so-nice part of time and about an hour and a half drive from home - too far for me. So I need to find something new. I hope it all works out. Jimmy is starting a new job the Monday of Thanksgiving, and I am so excited for him, it is a huge step in the right direction and the lady he is working for is planning on retiring next year, so if he gets in there and does a great job, he will be in charge in a year.
Ok enough about all that...my workout was ok...I did 35 minutes on the treadmill - I walked 7 minutes and ran 3 and repeated that 3 times then walked for a 5 minute cool down. The running killed my lungs, but it felt great to get out there and do SOMETHING active. I also got to do some strength training for about 15 minutes before we had to go get Charley. But it was a lot better then nothing.
Hmm, what else. The Monkey Bread turned out great. Everyone at work loved it and devoured it, and I only had a little bit last night and a little bit today. I just barely ate my points tonight so I am doing great...oh and last night I didn't have my Breyers Free - So I was exactly on with my points yesterday.
Tomorrow night my friend Kelly and I are going to the Tot Swap - for those of you who are not familiar with them it is like a big consignment sale for kids clothing and toys. Kelly is selling some stuff at the sale so she got 2 passes to the pre-sale and invited me :) I was going to go on Saturday with everyone else, but this is even better. I am hoping to get a Kelty Carrier and some winter clothes for Charley. I usually do pretty good at these types of sales and I never get to go early, so I am hoping to do even better.
I am also on a mission tomorrow to get us all something to wear for our family Christmas pictures. My friend Margie and her wonderful daughter are going to be our photographers and are going to get a family picture of us...with the dogs! I am so excited. Also as a side note...I am so impressed with Margie's paper Christmas ornament skills...she is amazing! You definitely have to head over to her website and check it out!

Damn that was good.
Here are 2 pics of her standing in her crib...she can pull herself right up there. My boy Mack is in one of the pics...he turned 6 on Tuesday :)

Oh and she got another tooth! 2 days ago, I thought, well let me see if I can feel any other teeth and there was one top one on her left side! So 3 teeth now :)Anyways...back to my post title...So not to rave again about how amazing the ZipLoc Zip and Steam bags are...but they ROCK! Ok - seriously if you have not tried them...go out of your way tomorrow to go to the store and get some bags and while you are at it - get the ingredients to make one of the following recipes.
Cheesy Pizza Chicken

or the one that I made tonight Shanghai Chicken and Zucchini with Spicy Mandarin Ginger Glaze which ROCKED! Now I estimated a few of the spices etc and I was out of ponzu sauce so I used some Spicy Mandarin Marinade/Sauce I had plus a little soy sauce - since I was using 3 chicken breasts instead of 2. But mine was SUPER spicy - but not in a bad way...in a really really delicious - made me break a sweat a little way :) but then again that might have to do with the fact I am still sick...
And the best part - I MADE THIS IN SEVEN MINUTES!! I made a little packet of these veggies to mix with it too. I only had one chicken breast and it was SO FILLING and did I mention DELICIOUS...oh and that I made it in only SEVEN MINUTES!?!?
So please try these bags and fall in love with them like I did :)
I did pretty good today for having a lot of food. I am back in the groove and plan to stay there - I just hope the scale continues to be nice to me.
On another note. I went back to the Dr for a follow up on my pneumonia...and they still heard crackling in both of my lungs, they said not to be alarmed by this, as it takes a long time (!!!) for it to go away when you have pneumonia. But they must have thought something of it...because I am back on steroids and 2 antibiotics, a steroid inhaler and I am supposed to continue my nebulizer. eh. I just want to be better...I go back for a 2nd cat scan (or as Jimmy and I like to say "they are going to scan my cat!" that is a Varsity Blues reference :)) next week and then we'll go from there. I'll say it once again...pneumonia sucks and so does pneumonia recovery!
oh and steroids...they do weird things to me...they are like SPEED. I clean like a maniac, can't sleep and can't sit still. It drives Jimmy mad :) But heck, our house could use a good cleaning...I mean I have done 3 loads of laundry, washed and changed all of the sheets, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed the upstairs, cleaned Charley's room, cleaned the kitchen and have plans to do more before bed. :)
Oh and I am going to start a present for Sarah's soon to be new addition Max :) so I can get that off and in the mail to her.
There are times in my life, when I'd like to just have a little stash of my speed uh I mean steroids...so I can get more done!
Alright...I have a Monkey Bread Cake in the oven for work tomorrow. It is my first time making it. If you haven't heard of it...it is delicious...but NOT DIET friendly. So I make it for work, so I will only have a little bite :)
Here is my menu...though there are 3 errors in it. See I posted on Twitter this morning my breakfast and lunch, then I went back to put in my snacks and when I did, my breakfast and lunch were gone. Well now they are back and I had already reentered them and so they are on there twice and it won't let me delete them like usual and I put my activity on there and forgot my negative in front of the points - so the points were over by 7 but I fixed it with an overall negative.
Woah, this is a long post...I'll chalk it up to the drugs :)

Say WHAT?!
Sorry just had to share my good news!! Looks like those comfy jeans won't be around too much longer...I'll have to move on from them!
Oh and I just dropped my car off to get the brakes done and walked the 1.8 miles home - oh boy and were my lungs ever SCREAMING at me. This getting over pneumonia thing sucks just as bad as having the pneumonia!! I mean I ran 6 miles a little less then 4 weeks ago!! eh. But heck, I got out there and walked on a dreary Saturday morning.
ok - Jimmy and Charley are upstairs napping and the bed is calling my name too as our little angel woke up about FIVE times last night...don't know what is going on...but I hope it was just a one night thing!!

Amazing Product!
The best part about this was, the chicken was so moist and delicious and it only took SEVEN minutes in the microwave!! You could add veggies in at the end too if you wanted.
Definitely go out and get some of these and try them. Oh and you can also cook FROZEN chicken in these in the microwave in TEN minutes! I am definitely doing this on the nights that Jimmy works - it is so easy and delicious!
Here is my menu - not great - we'll see how tomorrows weigh in goes...see if I kept the weight off from the big loss after I got out of the hospital...

Jeans...
Well...now they fit! They fit great. Nice and comfortable and I love them. I usually come home from work and change right away into workout type pants (comfy pants) for the evening...well the past 2 nights I have been keeping my jeans on :) I just thought I'd share - because my stand by pair that I had been wearing were getting baggy in the butt and waist - so now they are GONE - bye bye I'd rather never wear them again :) I am back in my old jeans! I still have 2 more pairs in smaller sizes that I used to fit into...I'm saving them for a month or so from now when I can get rid of these :)
It is so exciting but this little thing has given me a crapola of motivation to keep kicking butt!
Sorry I just needed to share...I tried to share this with Jimmy and he just didn't get it... ;)
Another thing that just shocked me...I ate Halloween candy at work - I don't have any here at home and had done so good not eating any since I wasn't feeling good...well today at work I had a little too much idle time and ran into a coworker in the hall eating a mini twix...and then it went downhill. And I had some of a homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookie from a bakery at home that I bought for Jimmy - I twittered all of the food I ate - and just put a sweet potato in the oven and thought...woah I am so over in points. I just went and ran the twitter tool on Roni's site and saw that I am only at 21.5!!! I still have 4.5 points left to eat AFTER the sweet potato! So I guess I am getting back used to managing my points well after being sick. I will post my menu a little later once I have eaten all my points.
I usually go and weigh in tomorrow but my girlfriend needs me to watch her daughter in the morning so I am going to go on Saturday morning instead and hopefully stay for the meeting since Jimmy can watch Charley :)

Here is my quick update...
· I came home from the hospital around 6pm on Wednesday – then had to go right back to the emergency room – yep – 45 minutes after I discharged. Had a rash all over my legs – they thought it could have been from the meds – but come to find out, the thought it was a contact rash from my pants. How annoyed I was. Got another IV and everything to find out they thought my pants made my legs breakout. eh
· Lost 3.6 pounds this week…guess that is what 4 days in the hospital with pneumonia will do to a girl. I just hope it stays off.
· Charley’s 1st Halloween went great! (see the below pics) she liked the costume – but not so much the hood after she found out it could come off :) she didn’t last very long that night, too much excitement from all of the kids coming to the door and all. But I am sure next year will be very different.
· I hate being sick. I can’t do anything! I am totally exhausted all the time and it is not fair! I mean I ran 6 miles for the marathon relay 3 weeks ago and now I can’t make a flight of stairs without a rest. And they say it can take 6-8 weeks to feel “back to normal” after having pneumonia. Oh joy.
· My appetite is coming back. Now just to keep it in check so I keep off the weight.
· My husband is the most amazing guy ever. He has taken such good care of Charley and I while I have been sick. And since he had to call out of work 2 days when I was sick – he had to go to work on Saturday and even found someone to watch Charley in the morning while he was at work – so I could rest. I love him so much.
· I am currently at work – got here at 1030 and plan to leave by 330 – don’t think I am going to make it much longer then that. Though work has been amazing too – since I don’t get paid if I am not here (since I am part time) they sent me gift cards to restaurants and the grocery store to help us out – oh and they gave me work to do from home! They are great too.
· All Charley wants to do is go. She is rolling and wiggling and leaning and standing and everything but crawling or walking…I am not sure I am ready for her being ‘mobile’ yet. I have to admit I am kind of scared!
· I made a new soup last night – Taco Soup – It is great! And I was so afraid it was going to turn out like crap since it was SO easy to make and it didn’t! I really like it – it is filling and only 3 points per serving the way I made it! And a serving is almost 2 whole cups! Here is the recipe since someone always asks and I always forget to post it!
TACO SOUP
- 1lb 99% lean ground turkey
- 1 packet low sodium taco seasoning
- 1 packet fat free ranch dip mix
- 1 jar of salsa (any heat level you would like)
- 1 large (28 oz maybe?) can of crushed tomatoes
- 3 – 8 oz cans of tomato sauce (I used the no salt added kind)
- 2 cans of Great Northern Beans RINSED (I only really like this kind of beans – I am sure any kind you use would be great)
- 1 large can of whole corn kernels RINSED
- 1 small can of diced green chilies RINSED
- 1 large green pepper diced
- 1 small onion diced
- 3 jars of water (I used the salsa jar)
- A little cooking spray
Spray the bottom of a big soup pan and add the chopped onion and pepper. Then add the ground turkey and cook until almost done. Add in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, taco seasoning, ranch mix and stir well. Then I opened and put all of my canned goods (beans, corn, chilies) into a colander and rinsed them, then added them in to the pot. Then I added 3 jars of water to make it more “soup like” – just use your judgment on this one – to get it like your consistency – I liked it thicker (more chili like) – but it is all personal preference and since it is just water it doesn’t make a points difference. Then let it come to a simmer and cook for about an hour (keep an eye on it and stir it every once in a while so it doesn’t burn on the bottom and all of the water doesn’t evaporate away). Mine made 8 big servings…for 3 points each – could make smaller servings if you wanted for less points – I think if I remember correctly on WW recipe builder the total recipe came to 29 points.
I love that it is soup season again – such easy meals to make for a whole week J I think I am going to make Creamy Tomato next week…
