2 Down 3 to Go...

2 Down 3 to Go for week one of the Challenge! I have been doing good so far. I went to the gym twice and did cardio and lifted. It was great. I have found out that I need to update the songs on my iPod, but other then that the workouts have been good and I have been able to get a lot done while I am there. Tomorrow morning I am going running before Jimmy goes to work since he works at the bar tomorrow night and I can't go at night.

Here are the pictures I promised of Charley from our friends daughters Baptism on Sunday. She looked quite cute in her little pink dress and sweater. And she was SO WELL behaved!! We are so incredibly lucky to have such a good baby. She just sat in Church and smiled and slept.

Today she had her 2 month Dr's appointment and she did great. She had to have 4 vaccine shots and one oral vaccine. Jimmy went with me since she was having the shots and we weren't sure how she'd react. Charley is not a big crier at all. She will cry a little when she is hungry, but that is about it...if you feed her she stops crying immediately. Well after she had one shot...she screamed, and screamed like we never heard before. My poor baby. Soon there after she was better. The shots made her exhausted (or the screaming...) and she slept for most of today and unfortunately when she wasn't sleeping or eating she was a little fussy, but nothing that holding her and rocking her and talking to her didn't fix. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...sad to say that we have to go through this again in 2 months. But at least we know these are helping her in the long run and she will be back to her happy smiling self in no time! :)

Enjoy :)

I'm Back...

Charley is now 8 weeks old. I can't believe how time is flying. 4 more weeks and then I have to go back to work. But hopefully there will be some good news coming later this week...at least I really hope so. I am not going to say anything more now...don't want to jinx it. But it will make me so happy if everything works out!

Now...back to reality. I have had to get dressed in 'real' clothes quite a few times over the last couple of weeks...and the bad part about that is the only 'real' clothes that fit me are my workout clothes...umm...can you say elastic waist!! So since I have had Charley, I have lost 36lbs...now one may think that is amazing...and it is...but the bad part is I still have at least that much to lose or more.

So in order to keep myself on track I am joining Carolyn's Summer Challenge. So over the next 8 weeks I am going to work out 5 times a week, do sit ups before bed 5 times a week and lose 18lbs. I know 18lbs is a lot, but being that I haven't really been working out consistently or watching what I have been eating for that matter, since Charley has arrived, I am hoping that the weight will just kind of melt away once I start actually trying to lose it. But we'll see. I might be way off with that...but I will have to try it to find out. I will weigh myself on Monday morning and every Monday morning for the next 8 weeks...I need to fit into my closet full of old clothes!!

Tomorrow we have our friend's daughter's Christening (she is 13 days older then Charley) so hopefully I will have some new cute pictures to post...until then, here is my new favorite one. Charley at her first baseball game (my cousin's sons game) she didn't enjoy it very much, it got a little chilly out...here she is bundled up...my cousin is holding her.

My cutie pie...

Long Time No Blog...But I have A Free Moment!!

So here it goes...my attempt to catch you up on the past many weeks that I have been missing.
Things have been going wonderfully with Charley, she is such a great baby. She has started to smile...for real (not just gassy smiles) and it is great! She has so many different expressions. I have yet to capture all of them on camera, but I am trying!!

She had her one month appointment the other week and she now weighs....ok drum roll.... ELEVEN POUNDS NINE OUNCES!!! In fact, the first thing the Dr. said when she walked in the room was "Boy Charley likes to eat!" oh geez. But to her defense, she has also grown 2 inches in a month too. She is in the 95th percentile for height and the 90th percentile for weight. To compare, my friend Kelly took her daughter MacKayla to her TWO month appointment and MacKayla was 11 lbs 10oz and 23 inches (Charley was 23 1/4"). But they are a month different in age!! :) It is going to be so great to see them grow up together.

Kelly watched Charley for me the other day when I had an eye Dr's appointment and took some pictures of the girls together, once I get them I will definitely post one.

Until then, here are some pictures of our smiling girl.

I can't believe she is already 6 weeks old!! That and I am 1/2 way through my maternity leave! I am NOT looking forward to going back to work. But we are trying to figure things out with work...I think I am going to go to a 4 day work week, 4 long days, but 4 days none the less. So that I will have one full day home with Charley, Jimmy will have one full day home with her and my mom will come for one day. Then we just have 2 days to figure out, Kelly said she would watch her, so that might be what we do...we'll see, we have a few more weeks to figure it out. Originally Jimmy was just going to stay home, and work at the bar, but since Charley has been here, he doesn't like going to the bar at night, he likes to hang out with his girls, so if we can get at least 4 days a week covered for him to be able to go to his day job, then he can quit the bar and we can be home together every night together and be able to go away on the weekends without worrying if he can get someone to cover his Saturday shift. So if you or someone you know and trust is a great babysitter and lives in the greater Baltimore area, please pass on their info as we might need someone a day a week or so :)

Sad thing is my mom would watch her every day if she could but they live about an hour away and the drive would be no fun all the time.

Hmmm, what else...not much really. Motherhood is all consuming :) Oh Jimmy got a new MAN Grill. He is quite excited about, I will be excited when he finally cooks me dinner on it :) We did just get it all put together yesterday, and he worked last night, so I am guessing I will get my first dinner tonight. mmmm

Ok, I need to go and dry my hair. Charley is upstairs asleep with Jimmy. I am heading to Jersey for my college roommates wedding shower today. 4 of us are carpooling and meeting here...so I need to get my butt in gear to get ready and then feed Charley one more time before I leave. She is spending the day with her daddy and aunts...they are going to go to the Inner Harbor and hang out for the day.

Woah, that was a lot in a short time. Hope everyone is doing well. I am still reading and trying to comment as much as I can. Hopefully I will be back in fuller force soon...if not when I get back to work, I definitely will be!!

Adios!!
