Final Update...

I have been scheduled to be induced on Thursday. AT FIVE AM! Yep, I need to be at the hospital by 4:45 to register for an induction to start at 5. I don't really see me getting any sleep tomorrow night...or Jimmy for that matter, but we'll see. I am sure I will need it.

I will be back to post a picture of our new family member some time this coming weekend.

Until then...

Adios!!! :)

My Due Date...the baby isn't listening...

As you can see on my ticker...today is my official due date. The baby doesn't really seem to care that he/she is due to be born today!!! Well I went to my LAST appointment today...yes my LAST APPOINTMENT!! Well nothing. Still nothing. But she is going to put me on the schedule to induce me this Thursday. Well that was the consensus when we left the office. She called the hospital to get us an appointment, the appointment lady was not there, so she left a message and said she would call us with the time. Well no word. It is now 9:30pm here...so I am guessing we will hear tomorrow.

So we should have a baby on Thursday!!! Well that is unless the baby has other plans for us and decides to come either tomorrow or Wednesday. We'll see.

I will keep you all posted!!

Here are some pictures of our newly finished basement and our new furniture! We love it! We still don't really feel like it is part of our house yet...it is weird, since it wasn't a livable room for the past 2 years, now to have it...we have to remember to go down there and enjoy it!! Well Jimmy, will always want to go down there, because of his man TV :)

This is the "Man TV" and the awesome built in shelves Jimmy made to hold the components!

Here is the room at a little wider of an angle...you can see where the TV is in relation to the couch and the stairs/closets

Here is our new HUGE sectional couch (and the baby's pack & play in the corner) :)

Here are the closet doors, stairs and where the boxes are there is a door on that side, for the bathroom (which still needs to be painted) and back where the door is open is where the laundry room/storage room is

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes for Mack!! He is doing better every day...it is hard to keep him from moving around too fast!!

Adios :)

I'm still here...

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I am still here. Still pregnant. Just looking at my ticker makes me excited...though I wish I could add another 3 days to it, because I still don't think this baby is going anywhere any time soon. He/she is liking it right where they are. But I guess I will find out more at my LAST appointment on Monday.

We have just been very busy. Between Mack's surgery and recovery, cleaning the house to get ready for the baby, our fish tank having some sort of "all of the fish are dying" episode and relaxing for the last few times before the baby comes.

Mack is doing great. We picked him up from the surgeon Thursday after work. The surgeon said everything went great and he should be back to normal as soon as the healing process is over. He came home with a red bandage on his leg to keep the swelling down and a cone on his head :) The e-collar that they had on him was more of an annoyance for us then it was for him - though he didn't like it much - because he had no peripheral vision with it on, so when he wanted to see what was next to him, he'd slam the collar into everything. Well someone at the vet's office told us that at the pet stores they sell a new kind of collar that does has the same effect as the e-collar. So we went and got one, it is an inflatable collar, that looks like a swimmy that a little kid would use in the pool. His regular collar is threaded inside that and you put it on him then velcro the outside shut. It works great, he likes it a lot more and he can see!! So I was happy we could get that to make him (ok ok...me) more comfortable. We don't keep it on him 24-7 like right now when I am in the living room with him relaxing and can keep an eye on him he doesn't have it on. But when we leave the house or go to sleep it goes back on.

Here is a picture of him...sorry for the quality...Jimmy took it with his iPhone :)

His bandage came off at an appointment this morning. The bruising and scar with staples is pretty rough looking, but when they looked at it this morning they said it looks normal and healthy. He goes back on the 3rd of March to get the staples out, then he doesn't have to wear the collar anymore.

My parents came and got Tucker and Chloe and took them to their house until the baby comes so that Mack can rest and recover in quiet. I am so thankful for that because it is such a big help. Tucker is just so incredibly full of energy and would be really hard to keep him calm.

The basement (the main room of it at least) is all finished!! It looks awesome!! I will take and post some pictures of it and Jimmy's handy work tomorrow.

Ok, I am off...going to the pet store to get something to hopefully make the remaining fishies feel better.

Have a great weekend everyone!! I'll be back tomorrow.

Adios :)

Just a quick update...

I just talked to the surgeon and he said Mack's surgery went well and he actually ended up doing a cheaper surgery then first thought. He said the outcome should be as close to perfect as he could expect. So that is wonderful news!!

I have to call tomorrow after 10am to find out what time I can pick my baby up tomorrow.

I am so relieved and I can't wait to see him and have him home again.

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes!!

I'll be back with another update either tomorrow night or Friday night.

Until then...

Adios :)

Emotional Day...

We ended up taking Mack to the surgeon at 3:30 today and found out that he needs surgery. Yes we kind of figured this before we even went...but there is something about them telling you what they are going to do and everything that makes it real. Plus when they told us how much it was going to cost...which is twice what we thought it would be, we were needless to say in a little shock.

I mean the timing just plain old sucks. The baby could be here any day now and Mack really needs the surgery and spending that amount of money is tough knowing that I will be off of work for 12 weeks. Yes I will be getting paid for most of it, but not knowing what we will be needing to pay for the baby and all is hard.

We are dropping Mack off tomorrow at 7:30am and he will have the surgery tomorrow and then we will pick him up on Thursday. My parents are taking Tucker and Chloe until the baby arrives so that we can concentrate on taking care of Mack and getting him as better as possible before the baby gets here. So that will help a lot, since they all like to play so much and it would be really hard to keep them all apart. So if Mack can get one good week of relaxation and recooperation in, then that will be good.

I guess it is a blessing that the baby has decided to take its time in coming. Now I am really hoping to make it until next Thursday so that I can get everything taken care of around here and at least have Mack back on a routine and getting better.

Oh and another thing that has come out of this is I am sending my new camera back. We really no longer have the money to spend on something like that so even though the FedEx man came by today to deliver it, I won't even be opening it...just sending it back. Of course that makes me sad, but you have to make some sacrifices in life and this is one I have to make. One day I'll get my camera...today is just not my day.

Tomorrow will be tough worrying about Mack. But I know he'll be better soon enough and this is what he needs. I am banking on a tough week in all coming up. But with all good outcomes. A healthy pup and a new baby.

Now off to try to get some sleep.

One Week...7 Days...39 Weeks!!!

The end is near!!! Either any day now...or in 7 days or at the most in 10 days we'll meet our little one!! I can't wait. We are so ready.

I am off to the Dr in about an hour...hopefully there will be news. But I am not holding my breath. I still feel exactly the same as I have the past few weeks. So if that is any indication, there is still no baby coming any time soon.

Update: The Dr's was yet again uneventful. Since my regular Dr is still out of town and I was seing another Dr, this Dr had nothing to compare this visit to...but he still said that everything is still a no go for a baby any time soon. And after tonights vet visit, it is a good thing that a baby is not coming any time soon...see below...

On the other side of things...my baby Mack hurt himself yesterday. We went on our normal Sunday hike at the park. About 2 minutes in Mack was only walking on 3 legs. So both Jimmy and I took a look at his foot, leg etc. We both moved it around, bent it different ways, etc. and nothing. He didn't cry flinch or anything. But he still wouldn't walk on it at all. It didn't really stop him at all while we were hiking through the woods, he was still running fast (on 3 legs) and going full force.

We decided to give it overnight, give him a little buffered asprin and see how it went. And as of this morning he is still walking only on 3 legs :( So soon after my Dr's appointment we will be taking him to the vet....and I am assuming to get some xrays. :( I really hope it is just a pulled muscle or something, but I have a feeling it is worse. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed that he is ok.

Update: Well my fears were right. Mack either has a partially torn or fully torn cruciate ligament in his left knee. Which means surgery. So we called the surgeon we had used when we lived in Northern Virginia for both Tucker and Mack's prior surgeries...and he himself is having surgery tomorrow. So the first time they could get us in with the other Dr in the practice was next Tuesday...surgery on Wednesday and then pick him up on Thursday. Since I could possibly have a baby before then or will be getting induced on Thursday this won't work. Plus it is over an hour away from here...so if we got him there then I went into labor or something we'd have a very hard time trying to find someone who could pick him up for us.

So our vet recommended 2 surgeons at a local surgical referral practice. So we called them tonight and they had no appointments until next Wednesday!! But I explained our situation to the lady on the phone and she told me to call back at 9am tomorrow morning to talk to the office manager and explain our baby situation to her and see if she can get us into one of the Dr's "emergency" slots...what Mack has is not considered an emergency, but she said they might let us in that way. Hopefully they do...because if we can get the surgery done before the end of the week and him back home, that would be so great!! I just want him back home and well before the baby gets here. I will keep you posted about what happens when we call tomorrow.

Ok...I'll be back later with Dr and Vet news...hopefully both good.

Until then...

Adios :)

My Amazing Husband...

So guess what my amazing husband did last night? He surprised me by buying me a new camera!! I have told him in the past how much I'd really like a digital SLR camera...but that it was only a dream, because they are so expensive and we had a new baby coming.

Here is a picture of the body with one lens!

Well last night he told me he really wanted to surprise me with the new camera when I was in the hospital after having the baby, but he wanted to be sure I had a chance to play with it before the baby got here. He is the greatest!!

He got me the camera body with 2 lenses!! The 18-55 and 55-200 lenses. I can't wait until the little one arrives so that I can start taking tons of pictures!!

SINGLE DIGITS!!!

Ok, this is going to be a short post as we are running late to get out of the house to go to a clinic at Home Depot about how to tile our shower :)

But I signed in today to notice that my ticker is saying 9 days until I am due!! NINE DAYS!! SINGLE DIGITS!! I can't believe it, it seems like just yesterday I was in the hundreds!!

Time is flying...now just to see if it really is single digits before the baby comes or if it will be 12 days from now and I will be induced...

I'll be back later tonight with another post...about how wonderful my husband is... :)

Until then...enjoy your Saturday...

Adios!! :)

I packed my stupid bag...

I packed my bag for the hospital. Jimmy kept asking me when I was going to pack my bag and I kept avoiding the question. He finally cornered me and flat out asked me why I keep avoiding packing my bag for the hospital. I told him I didn't want to because then the baby wouldn't want to come. To me it is kind of like...why wash your car when you know as soon as you do the next day it is going to rain! So I gave in on Sunday night and packed my bag...then on Monday I went to the Dr's for my 38 week check up and...

Still absolutely NOTHING. My Dr left yesterday afternoon for 2 weeks of charity work in Africa…and so at the end of my appointment she said “make an appointment for the 25th (my due date)…I’ll see you when I get back” AH! Not what I wanted to hear!! I do see a different Dr next Monday, while she is gone though. She did say that if I do come and see her on the 25th and still have not delivered that I will be induced on the 28th. So we’ll see. I just want to have this baby already!!

On a good note…the carpet is in the basement! It looks like a real room, no more cement floors!! Tomorrow our new sectional couch gets delivered and then I will take some pictures to post and show you guys.

Also, the one thing that we didn’t get for our showers – that we knew we wouldn’t get because it was so expensive – was our stroller. Well I won a brand new 2008 model on eBay last week!! And it came yesterday! Now we just have to wait for the infant car seat attachment part and we are set! We wanted a really nice jogging stroller that could serve many purposes and this one fit the bill. It will be the only stroller we have…we didn’t get one of the regular bulky ones that comes with a car seat…we just don’t have any place to store 2+ strollers so we went for one really nice one that we can use day to day as well as for jogging. So that in June I can use it to run in my first 10k since the baby has been born and it is a jogging stroller 10k! I am so excited.

We also got a great deal on a carpet shampooer! We were borrowing my friend Kelly’s, but then I was looking online one night and came across 2 stackable Kohl’s online coupons for 15% off each, for a total of 30% off. So I looked on there to see if they had any carpet shampooers on sale, and I found one on sale from $179 to $149 and then with the 30% off it came to like $108!! And shipping was only like $6!! So for $115, we got a brand new carpet shampooer that will be delivered to our door tomorrow. I can’t wait. Then I can shampoo the living room/dining room, and the baby’s room…and our room…if I feel ambitious :)

So we are set, clothes are washed, baby’s room is cleaned out (minus shampooing the carpet in there), the baby’s fish tank got two little gold fish on Sunday, the pack and play is set up in the basement, the swing is together, the monitor is set up. Now all we need is a baby!!

Speaking of baby’s I am going to go and visit Kelly and baby MacKayla tonight. I need to get my fill :)

If there is any news I will keep you guys posted…but don’t hold your breath…

Adios :)

The Teens?!!?! etc...

Ok…so I am in the teens now. Yes, 18 days left!!! I am 37 weeks-Full Term. There are a lot of descriptions to where I am at. One in particular that I like to say…”I’m done” I am so ready to be done being pregnant. I am not too uncomfortable yet, but a tad frustrated. As even at my Dr’s appointment on Monday there was no change, nothing, nada, zip, zilch. So on to my next appointment this coming Monday the 11th. Then my Dr leaves for Africa until the 23rd, so I will see another Dr the week of the 18th then my Dr will be back for my appointment on my due date.

She flat out told me on Monday not to expect a baby this week. And I am assuming the same thing will go next week, but I’ll just have to wait and see. She was even telling me about how she would induce me the 28th if I haven’t gone by Monday the 25th when I see her. So that is 3 days longer. I am just hoping that something happens before then. But then again…who knows.

All of my limbs are very swollen. Well I am sure they seem more swollen to me then everyone else, but they are definitely swollen. It looks like I have sausage feet. I can't stand it. I asked my Dr when all of the swelling will go away and she said if I have a regular delivery it will go away in about a week, but if I have a c-section, then it could take 3 weeks or so. eh.

My friend Kelly had her baby on the 5th. She is so precious. MacKayla Brynn. I went to the hospital last night and saw them. She is so tiny!! I just hope my labor goes as well as Kelly’s did. Her and her husband left for the hospital at 2:45pm, she was in triage for an hour, got to her room, got her epidural, they broke her water and then she had MacKayla at 4:40pm!! I mean she wasn’t even at the hospital for 3 hours before she was born!! Lucky girl!

So here is a question for you all…we have a boys name picked out and a girls name picked out. And since none of my family or close friends know about or read this blog, I can share our name choices with you…though no one else knows what our name choices are…so consider yourselves lucky and in the loop J

Girl – Charley Grace
Boy – Lucas (Luke) James

Ok now here is my conundrum…When I was at the hospital yesterday I asked Kelly what their boys name choice was…and it was Charlie. Now they didn’t have a boy, but still. I really do like Charley as a girls name (and a boys too) but since my dad is a Charles (the third) and all… I don’t know if naming a girl Charley is insulting to a guy…or what my dad will think? (though I know he will love her anyway!)

We have another girls name we like too. (Mallory Paige) I just don’t know what to do. Now I know we would have picked our other girls name if Kelly would have had a boy named Charlie, but she didn’t. So should we stick with Charley? Jimmy has caved to me on this decision, because he really likes our 2nd choice, but knows how much I like Charley.

Any and all advice/ideas would be great!! The pressure of naming a person is tough!! It was hard enough to name our puppy Tucker!!

A Fun But Long 50 Questions Meme

Here is a meme that Jeannie did...and just like her I figured "why not?" You need to go and check hers out and Roni's too. Some of their answers cracked me up!! Please leave a comment if you decide to do this on your blog, so I can check out your answers! Here goes nothing...

**oh there were about 3 or 4 places where questions were missing...I made up my own :) **

1. Do you like blue cheese? Yes...I love it!! Actually the stronger the better for me. Though Jimmy likes to tell me I am eating "stinky feet cheese" whenever I eat it. Isn't he sweet :)

2. Have you ever smoked heroin? I liked Jeannie's answer so I am going to keep it - Hugs not drugs! :)

3. Do you own a gun? NO

4. What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic? Don't think I have ever been to a Sonic...but my staple flavor for everything is orange :) so I'd have to say I'd go with that

5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? No...I just get annoyed at going sometimes when you know what is wrong and all you need is medicine, but they won't give it to you unless they see you...and you go and they give you the medicine you knew you needed in the first place!

6. What do you think of hot dogs? Though I am a bigger burger fan (CHEESE burger :)) I do like Turkey hot dogs - with a tad bit more ketchup then hot dog :)

7. Favorite Christmas movie? hmm...National Lampoon's Christmas or A Charlie Brown Christmas

8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? it depends, I'll have some milk if I am having oatmeal, or I'll have a small glass of cranberry or apple juice...but after the baby is here, I'll probably cut out the juice and stick to water (which is what I drink all day long)

9. Can you do push ups? Sure...one or two...but then I don't know if everyone else would call them push ups!

10. Where have you gone on your favorite vacation? Belize with my husband Jimmy

11. What's your favorite piece of jewelry? My wedding and engagement rings

12. Favorite hobby? Spending time with Jimmy and the dogs outside and all the time...don't know if you will call it a hobby...

13. How many brothers and sisters do you have? 1 brother Chris (2 yrs older)

14. Do you have A.D.D.? No

15. What's one trait you hate about yourself? I dislike the fact that I don't know how to say "no" to anyone that asks for my help or asks me to do something for me.

16. Middle name? Leigh (now I use my maiden name though)

17. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment... I think I might be getting hooked on Carrie vs. Bruno Dance Wars...I love my doggies...I need to go and change the laundry

18. Name 3 things you bought today... dinner is all I really bought...though we did decide on and order carpet for the basement and we did pick out the new couch for the basement (though both of them weren't actually 'paid' for today)

19. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink? Since the whole kidney infection episode...Water, Water and more Water - with some juice thrown in there and very very rarely some lemonade

20. Current worry? I am really going to be having a baby some time in the next 3 weeks!! I guess I don't really fear that, I fear the labor...eh

21. Current hate right now? Hmmm I actually might have a few right now. Heartburn, not being able to get comfortable for more then an hour while sleeping...and getting up to pee every few hours!!

22. Favorite place to be? the beach any time of year...though I do like it when it is nice warm and sunny

23. How did you bring in the New Year? at my friends house with a group of friends

24. Where would you like to go? Somewhere tropical where its sunny and warm (not raining!) I second that Jeannie!!

25. Name three people who will complete this? I don't know but I hope I have a few takers, they are fun to do and read!

26. Do you own slippers? Actually I got a pair for Christmas to have to use while I am in the hospital

27. What shirt are you wearing? Black Gap Maternity Dress

33. Favorite girl's name? you'll find this one and number 34 out in a few weeks after the baby arrives! :)

36. Last person that made you laugh? Jimmy...he always makes me laugh :)

37. Best bed sheets as a child? gosh I don't know...probably the care bear ones

38. Worst injury you've ever had? knock on wood...I have never really had a bad injury. Though I did fall off of the jungle gym when I was in preschool and got a big goose egg on my head!

39. Do you love where you live? Not so sure. I love my home with Jimmy and the dogs. But we do want to move to the country where we can have land and a single family home...maybe in a few years

40. How many TVs do you have in your house? Gosh, this is going to sound terrible especially since there are only 2 of us that live here. 4 TV's one on the main floor, the new BIG one in the basement (Jimmy's Man Room :)), one in our bedroom and one in the guest room.

41. Who is your loudest friend? Definitely Amanda

42. How many dogs do you have? Cats? Three Dogs...no cats, though the past 2 weeks we have been cat sitting for my parents, so temporarily one cat...and a tank full of fishies too!

Good News

Well we have some good news on the baby front. The ultrasound went great, other then being painful, because our little one doesn't like to turn the right way so they can see what they needed to see, so they have to push pretty hard sometimes.

We had the ultrasound to check on the baby's size and position. The baby is in the right position, head down. What I have been feeling in my ribs for the last few months is the baby's boney butt :) So that is good.

Also, the Dr was worried about the baby's size since I was measuring ahead 2 weeks. With all of the measurements they take during the ultrasound they determined the baby's weight to be approxmiately 6lbs 6 oz. which is great! I have 3 weeks left on Monday until I hit 40 weeks (though they consider you full term at 37 weeks). So if the baby does what it is supposed to and gains an ounce a week for the next 3 weeks, it won't be a big baby! YEAH!!!

Though they did say the head was a little big, but hopefully the body will catch up or they were off on that measurement a little bit.

What was really neat is that we could see the baby's hair in the ultrasound! So the baby will have some hair when it is born. We could also see it moving its mouth and fingers. We still didn't want to find out the sex and that wasn't a problem, because it had its legs crossed the whole time :)

Now just to see if there is any progress at my appt on Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Adios! :)
