Last Day of 2008...

Wow, is it really the last day of 2008? I can't believe that this year is already over...Charley is 10 months old!! The next big thing is her FIRST Birthday!! Unreal.

My last day of 2008 wasn't stellar - but I tracked and I went over my points again today and almost killed all of my weekly points - I'd have been ok if today wasn't an rest day for training, but it is so I move on.

I was going to go to a friends house tonight - but with my car still in the shop and the timing of the party--Charley goes to bed at 7-7:30 and the party was at 8:30 so I'd have had to wake her up to take her to the party then put her back to bed. So I decided to stay home - and am glad I did. Charley is already asleep I can get my post up and then I think I am going to bed. Jimmy is working at the bar tonight - a long night for him - they are open until at least 4 :(

Now for the new year there are a few things I'd like to achieve - I am not going to go into weight etc...because that is not on my list. Here is what is:
  • I want to be healthy and be able to keep up with everything that Charley is going to bring to us this year
  • I want to finish my 1/2 marathon in March
  • I want to complete another (or two) Sprint Triathlons this year
  • I want to purge our house of all the necessary clutter - It would make our live so much more relaxing if we didn't have so much stuff and could find things when we need them
  • I want to help Charley grow into a wonderful, caring, responsible, little girl
  • I want to take every possibility that 2009 brings and live it to the fullest!
Tomorrow we are running in the Resolution 5K - we were supposed to do 3 miles today for our training and then have a rest day tomorrow, but we switched it since we are running the 5k tomorrow - I think this might be a standard weekly thing though, since on Wednesday's Jimmy works at the bar and we like to train and go to the gym together - so we might switch our Thursday's and Wednesday's workouts.

Well today was my last day at work it was kind of bittersweet - there was really no one in the office, which was probably a good thing, because I am going to miss everyone there very much - they were all amazing and great coworkers - I can honestly say - the best I have ever worked with...but I must move on.

My new boss called me today and told me how excited he is that I am coming there next week - so that is good. It is just hard going in and not knowing anyone and not knowing the environment. I have to go back to my old office next Friday for my official goodbye - so I will at least get to see and say goodbye to everyone I missed due to the holidays, so that will be nice.

I did come home to something that made me a little excited about my new job - a big FedEx package from them. I was saying to Jimmy tonight on our drive home how I hadn't heard from the people at my new job and had no idea what time I had to be at the office etc (the contracting company that I am working for is having me come to their office for inprocessing on Monday - so I won't actually be working with the people I meet there - just working for them). And so when I got home and saw the big box and in it was a really nice coffee (or in my case tea) travel mug, a big huge leather binder/portfolio, with a really nice pen and it was filled with a schedule of everything that I am doing and need to have done before I go on Monday! It is all really nice, laid out and they seem like a pretty squared away company. It is great to go from working for the past 2 companies I have worked for - which were a little less desirable in this department - to a great company. It seems like this is a major step in the right direction for my career and our future. So 2009 HERE I COME!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Thank you for all of your love, support and friendship!! Here is to making 2009 Rock just as much if not more then 2008!!

That is so adorable that they sent you a package of fun work related stuff! Is it wrong that I am obsessed with travel mugs (and don't drink coffee) and office supplies?!?! Also, I love all of your goals for the new year. You can totally accomplish all of that! You're well on your way with your training for the 1/2!

How awesome for you rnew job to send you that package!

And I'm gonna start training ... for something lol I'm not sure if it's a half/full marathon or sprint tri, but I know I will do SOMETHING in 2010 and will train all year to get into the best possible shape for it!

Have a WONDERFUL day - can't wait to hear how the 5K went!

Good luck with the new job. I have never worked for a company where a package came with things to do before I started work!
