I'm still here...

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I am still here. Still pregnant. Just looking at my ticker makes me excited...though I wish I could add another 3 days to it, because I still don't think this baby is going anywhere any time soon. He/she is liking it right where they are. But I guess I will find out more at my LAST appointment on Monday.

We have just been very busy. Between Mack's surgery and recovery, cleaning the house to get ready for the baby, our fish tank having some sort of "all of the fish are dying" episode and relaxing for the last few times before the baby comes.

Mack is doing great. We picked him up from the surgeon Thursday after work. The surgeon said everything went great and he should be back to normal as soon as the healing process is over. He came home with a red bandage on his leg to keep the swelling down and a cone on his head :) The e-collar that they had on him was more of an annoyance for us then it was for him - though he didn't like it much - because he had no peripheral vision with it on, so when he wanted to see what was next to him, he'd slam the collar into everything. Well someone at the vet's office told us that at the pet stores they sell a new kind of collar that does has the same effect as the e-collar. So we went and got one, it is an inflatable collar, that looks like a swimmy that a little kid would use in the pool. His regular collar is threaded inside that and you put it on him then velcro the outside shut. It works great, he likes it a lot more and he can see!! So I was happy we could get that to make him (ok ok...me) more comfortable. We don't keep it on him 24-7 like right now when I am in the living room with him relaxing and can keep an eye on him he doesn't have it on. But when we leave the house or go to sleep it goes back on.

Here is a picture of him...sorry for the quality...Jimmy took it with his iPhone :)

His bandage came off at an appointment this morning. The bruising and scar with staples is pretty rough looking, but when they looked at it this morning they said it looks normal and healthy. He goes back on the 3rd of March to get the staples out, then he doesn't have to wear the collar anymore.

My parents came and got Tucker and Chloe and took them to their house until the baby comes so that Mack can rest and recover in quiet. I am so thankful for that because it is such a big help. Tucker is just so incredibly full of energy and would be really hard to keep him calm.

The basement (the main room of it at least) is all finished!! It looks awesome!! I will take and post some pictures of it and Jimmy's handy work tomorrow.

Ok, I am off...going to the pet store to get something to hopefully make the remaining fishies feel better.

Have a great weekend everyone!! I'll be back tomorrow.

Adios :)

Is it wrong to think the red bandage looks cute? I had a cat who had to wear one of those neck things for a week, and same problem with the vision. He was bumping into everything. I felt bad for him.

Good luck with the baby!! Ahhhhh I am so excited for you!! Post as soon as you can!!

Aww poor little Mack! Glad to hear he's doing well though. And glad to hear YOU'RE doing well! Any day now!!!!

Also... does Tucker really still have THAT much energy? How old is he again? I'm wondering only because some days I don't think Maddie will ever calm down. haha. And using Tucker as an example I fear it may be true :)

First I would like to say, how exciting to have your LAST appointment!! :o

Mack looks good, we didn't bother with the cone thing, I figure if they aren't licking the wound all the time and leave it alone then there is no need for the annoying cone! ;) Our dog never had staples or a bandage when she come home, I think all the stitches were under the skin and then they glued it? The bruising defintely got worse as the days went on but she seems good now!

I resent my e-mail ... hopefully it worked this time!~ ;)
