26 Weeks...

26 Weeks...14 more to go! Under 15 weeks!!! And under 100 days!! I still can't believe how much time is flying! And once this week is over...time is going to fly even faster!

Not much going on from here this week. We had a set back with the nursery when we found out that the board we got for the shelf was warped and we haven't had time to go back and get another. So once we go and get that and get it put up it will be all done!

I found out today that my parents cleaned out their change jar and are giving us the money to buy something for the nursery, so we are going to go and order the changing table/dresser tomorrow. It won't be in for 7-10 days...but at least we will have a little furniture in there.

The invite was sent out for my work shower, which will be January 9th. So that is exciting. I can't wait to get some baby things :)

I am heading out of town with the doggies around 1pm tomorrow to head to my parents house. I have a hair appointment at 6:30 then my mom and I are going shopping a little. Jimmy will head up there on Thursday morning after working tomorrow night.

I will probably post on Thanksgiving...so until then!

Adios :)

Awesome Crock Pot Recipe!

Tonight Jimmy & I tried a new crock pot recipe and it was DELICIOUS! So here is the recipe...

Pork Roast With Peach Sauce

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients:
1 boneless pork loin roast tied (about 3lbs)
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 large can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Cooked Egg Noodles -- optional

Directions:

1. Coat a 6 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Place roast into slow cooker; season with onion salt and black pepper.

2. Drain peaches, reserving the syrup. In a bowl, whisk syrup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and pumpkin pie spice. Pour over meat; scatter peach slices over the roast.

3. Cook 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low.

4. Remove meat and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Spoon out peach slices and reserve. Place liquid in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook, stirring for about 30 seconds until sauce thickens (I used 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 4 tablespoons water, b/c it wasn't as think as I'd like)

5. To serve, slice meat and scatter reserved peach slices over the top. Serve with sauce on the side and egg noodles, if desired.

This dish was great! We overcooked the meat a little bit...Jimmy kind of forgot about it ;) but it was still great with the noodles...I put the sauce and peaches on the noodles and a little on the meat.

Enjoy!!

25 Weeks, Hospital Tour, Belly Pic & Nursery Updates

I know I know...a long title...but I have a lot to say!

I was 25 weeks on Monday...only 15 more weeks to go!! Give or take. I had another Dr's appointment on Tuesday and she said I am measuring a little big. I talked to my friend Kelly who is having her 2nd baby 2 weeks before me, and she said she is measuring big this time and did last time with her son Jack...and she had him a week early. So here is to hoping I don't go longer then 40 weeks...a little shorter will be welcome! Like I have said before...if I could just have an exact date...or at least a 5 day window, life would be so much easier and stress free.

Jimmy and I still haven't figured out names yet. Well of course I have the ones I love, he just says he doesn't like them. The other night though I did finally get some type of commitment out of him. He said by Nov 30th we'd have a name picked out, one for a boy and one for a girl. So we'll see...I am going to try my best to hold him to that!

Thank goodness it is all ready Thursday, because I am beat. Had a long night last night refereeing and need a weekend to do nothing. And I have just that! This is the only weekend between now and Christmas where we don't have any type of plans!! Of course there are some things that need to be done around the house, but nothing pressing and nothing that will take tons of time. So I can relax, catch up on some TV and get things done when I want to get them done without any worries.

Tonight we went on our OB Hospital Tour. There was a group of 8 of us. We got to see the labor and delivery wing of the hospital and find out everything that they had there and everything that we need to bring etc. A lot to think about! We also found out that room we check into when we get to the hospital is the same room that we will stay in and have the baby (unless a c-section is required) and then we will move to another room for the rest of the stay. We got to see the nursery with all of the little babies...how cute! We saw one little girl who was just 7 hours old...so adorable! I can't believe that in a little over 3 months, we will have a baby that is all ours and they actually let us take him or her home...scary!! I think this whole thing is becoming more and more real by the day!

Finally here is the long awaited Belly Pic - Here I am last week 24 weeks and a few odd days...growing every day. I can't believe that I have 3 more months of getting bigger ahead of me! (this was early in the morning...no makeup ;))

We are almost done the nursery. We have about 4 more pieces of molding to go up and then I need to get curtains and a curtain rod and we are set. Decorating wise anyway. We won't have furniture for a while, since we registered for everything. Though we do have an awesome glider recliner that my parents bought us (which is currently in 2 pieces in our living room, so the dogs won't make it theirs :)). The recliner might soon become my bed, since I am having a lot of trouble sleeping. Here are some pictures of the nursery...in progress.

Here are the taped walls all measured and marked out ready for the colored stripes!

Here are some pictures of the painted orange and yellow stripes :)

My best friend Meghan came over to help me paint the stripes. They looked a little alarming in the beginning since the colors were so bright with the blue tape, but once we got the tape off and the white shown through, it looked a lot better. And it looks even better now with some of the molding up and the trim and doors painted. We also painted the back inside of the bookshelf that we are keeping in the room. You can see a little bit of the bookcase in the bottom of the one picture.

So the basement...well Bob our contractor finished up all of the electric, plumbing and stud work last Friday. He didn't come and do any work this week as he needed to go and work on another job he has. And since we are in no dire hurry to get everything done we were fine with that. So he is scheduled to come back the Monday after Thanksgiving to start on the drywall and duct work. Then after that is completed, he will move on to the doors and then he will be done!

Next all Jimmy and I will have to do is, put up floor molding, paint, install outlet covers, put in the toilet and sink in the bathroom and work on the wet bar. Those items will probably take us at least a month or so do to, since it will just be us and we will have to buy the items we need piece by piece and since the work up to now has drained our savings and we still have Christmas presents to buy...things will go a little slower after Bob is done. But that is ok. Just as long as we have a livable space with carpeting by the time the baby arrives we will be set!

Ok...off to bed. Need to get some more sleep tonight then I did last night.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will have some finalized pics of the Nursery, complete with all of the molding, curtains and blinds :) oh and the comfy chair too!

Until then...

Adios :)

24 Weeks in Miami!

24 Weeks today! 16 more to go! :) As time continues to fly...

Just wanted to say up front...sorry, but no belly pic this week as I did get it taken yesterday before I left, but I didn't have time to get the pictures online before I left :( So you will have to wait until next Monday for the way over due needed belly shot. Sorry Ladies!

I got into Miami around 8:30 last night. Pretty much went straight to my room, called Jimmy and went to bed. As it is now 5:50am and I have been up since 5. eh. Didn't know we'd have such an early morning here...but we do at least for today.

My luck...there is a cool down coming to town, so no hot weather for me! :( I was hoping for some hot -- well at least pretty warm -- beach weather for Thursday-Saturday. But heck, I have decided I am sitting by the pool even if it is in long pants and a sweatshirt, reading my book and relaxing all day long!

My best friend Meghan came over and spent Saturday night helping me put the colored stripes up on the nursery walls (Ruff came back too :)) and at first we were both very scared, as with the bright blue painters tape and sort of bright colors that Jimmy and I chose, we weren't too sure about the look... Well I am glad to say that when we were all done and pulled off the tape...it looked GREAT! Jimmy loves it too, which I was worried about, though we did pick out the colors together, they are my favorite colors... I did take pictures of the taping before and the after of the colored stripes that I will post when I get home.

Jimmy and I attempted to put up the chair railing yesterday before I left, with no luck. The nail gun that I borrowed from a guy at work, wouldn't work for us. So we just gave up and spent some time together before I left. He assures me it will all be done by the time I get home. So hopefully I can put up some final nursery pictures next week too! Well minus any furniture :)

Ok...off to work...I am going to post this later tonight...So until then...

Nursery & Basement Update & Our Houseguest

Here are the before pictures of the nursery. Sorry that some of them are so dark. I forgot to take them before I went to work, so I had Jimmy take some before he started painting. The room is a very pale yellow color all around with a very light off whiteish cream trim color.

As of today, it is now all white -- minus the trim and doors that we are going to go and buy paint for today. We are also going to put up some molding and a shelf and the some stripes, hopefully I will have updated pictures to post tomorrow before I go to Florida. :) It is coming along and I can't wait for it to be finished! Then we will have a place to put the new chair that my parents bought us for the room and the baby stuff that we will hopefully bet getting soon!

Now on to the basement. Our contractor was here for 3 days this week. Well he did drop off all of the materials on Monday, but then had to go home and take care of his sick girlfriend. So he worked Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...and got A LOT done!! He will be back Monday for 5 days, and then it should be done!! Well minus what Jimmy and I are going to do, which is molding, installing a wet bar, installing the toilet and sink in the bathroom and painting...then we'll get someone to put in carpet. So soon enough it will be finished!! I can't wait! Everything is finally coming together!

This is going to be the bathroom, with a tub on the left side and the sink and toilet on the right side, the bigger opening is where the door is going to be.

This opening is going to be the door into the laundry/storage area.

This is part of the large part of the room, Jimmy has a big flat panel TV picked out to go on the wall back in the corner behind the ugly couch...that we need to take to the dump!

This is the other side of the big part of the room, where we are planning on putting a large sectional couch :)

These two openings are going to be closets under the stairs. There will be 2 separate doors one on the right and one on the left, the one on the right is going to be a hanging closet that is finished, and the one on the right is going to be an unfinished closet that goes all the way back and under the stairs.

And this is our house guest for the day today. He is my best friend Megs dog Ruff. He is a handful. Three years old, 145lbs of love and fun. :) Tucker and Chloe love playing with him...Mack on the other hand can't wait for him to go home :) Meg had to work today and the landlord and some people are coming in to do work on where she lives, so she couldn't leave him at home, so he came and spend the night at our house last night and is here until about 4 today when she gets off of work.

I love dogs and he is a great love. However, keep in mind we live in a townhouse, already have 3 large dogs...and now we have about 400 lbs of dog running around and playing. And with the basement and nursery being worked on, the rest of our house is full of stuff that was moved from one room or the other, until it can go back into its proper place...so there really isn't room for our 3 dogs, let alone a new beast. But we are having fun!!

Off to go and buy more paint since the dogs are finally done playing and are in the napping stage of the morning. Then more work on the nursery!! Have a great weekend everyone. I will be back tomorrow before I leave for Florida...with a long awaited and demanded Belly Pic!! :)

Until then...

Adios :)
