23 Weeks, Scooby & Before Pictures

23 weeks...Only 17 more to go!! I am feeling good...not sleeping well. But I am also not tired from the lack of sleep, so I guess it could be worse. I need to get more exercise then I am getting now, but with all that is going on, I don't seem to have much time. I am definitely not sitting around and doing nothing, so I am sure that is helping a little bit.

The nursery is in the very early beginning stages, it is cleaned out and we have bought the paint. So I will take a before picture of the empty room with the pre-painted light yellow walls and then I will post updates of the nursery as it goes along.

We got our first baby gifts in the mail!! My wonderful college friend Erica and her husband Kevin sent us the swing, a rattle and the head rest for the car seat that we registered for. So once the nursery is fully painted and the molding is put up (hopefully by the end of the weekend) we can put the baby's stuff in its room. :)

Scooby...I am sure you are wondering...well here he is!! This is the pattern that Jimmy and I decided on for carving our pumpkin! This was my first year using the pumpkin carving tools and I think it turned out pretty good!!

Now on to the before pictures...our contractor started on our basement on Tuesday. And I wanted to take step by step pictures until it is finished. I am so excited to get it finished! Our contractor said he could be done everything by the end of next week! That is also if he pushes himself hard every day, so we'll see. We are in no hurry to get it done that quick...we'd just like it done before Christmas, but it is looking like it will be done before Thanksgiving!

** Don't mind the mess stuffed under the stairs and the dogs...we had to find places to put stuff until the closets are finished! :)**

We might not have everything done by then, like the carpet, the fixtures in the bathroom and the wet bar might not be done, but the walls will be up, painted and it will look like a real room! Every day it is so exciting to come home and see what is done. I will probably take my next set of pictures tomorrow.

I leave for Florida on Sunday for a week...4 days for work and the rest will be spent relaxing with some of my girlfriends on the beach. I can't wait. And to be able to come home and see the progress on the house...it will be great! I will have to have Jimmy take some pictures while I am gone and send them to me so I can see what is going on.

I am off to watch Biggest Loser!

Adios! :)

22 Weeks

Only 18 more to go....or less. I read today that 1 in 8 babies are born 3 weeks early. So here is my one pet peeve with having a baby...

I am a planner.
I have things planned on my calendar through January.
I have to have everything planned out...what we are doing at night, what we are doing on the weekend etc.

And this is the one thing that I can not plan. Not at all.

No knowing when the baby is coming...well yes...give or take a few weeks, but no planning to the day. And this both worries me and frustrates me to no end. I think I am just apprehensive about it all. We need to get the nursery done, the furniture in the room and everything set and ready for the baby, since we don't know when he/she will arrive. I am incredibly excited and just wish I could count down the days and mark the date on the calendar of when the new little one will arrive...guess I will have to learn how to not plan everything...it will take some work...

I am incredibly excited, because we have finally decided on a contractor to finish our basement. And he is going to start on MONDAY!!! I have been pushing and pushing getting the basement done to Jimmy over the past few months because we need the floor room and space before the baby gets here. So now we are getting moving on it and getting it done!! I can't wait until it is all finished and the dogs will have more room and we will have more room too. I will post progress pictures after we finally get it all cleared out of the remaining junk this weekend.

Tomorrow night we are going to go and buy the paint and molding for the nursery. So I need to get going and keep up the cleaning and clearing out of the office...which will soon be the nursery. I will definitely take pictures of the nursery and post them too. It will be empty for a while though, since we registered for our nursery furniture (we hope to get some of it for Christmas...if not we will go and buy it).

Adios :)

My Headless Sexy Husband

I don't think I mentioned the race that my husband ran in NYC a few weeks back? It was then 2nd Annual Men's Health Urbanathlon. It was awesome. An 8 mile running race dispersed with 4 stops where there were obstacles - Jersey Wall Hurdles - Marine Hurdles - Balance Beam - Tubes to Crawl Through - 52 Flight Stair Climb (YES 52 FLIGHTS!) - a 6 ft. Wall Climb - and my favorite...the Taxi Cab Hurdle!

We went up to NYC on a Friday on the train (I got us an awesome room on Priceline.com) we picked up his race packet, checked into the swanky Hudson Hotel and then went exploring. Our hotel was only 8 blocks from Times Square it was perfect.

So Saturday morning we had to be up to go to the race by 5...hit a yummy NY bagel store then hailed a taxi the rest of the 15 or so blocks to Central Park where the kick off was. Made it there in plenty of time. They kicked off at 7am and then it was off to the races for me! I felt like I was on Amazing Race...running around the city, grabbing taxi after taxi "Take me to Chelsea Piers!" so that I could catch the 2 obstacle locations that Jimmy and I discussed would be best for me to see. So I made it to both locations, the first right before the first runner made it there and then 2nd...after the first 5 people had finished! Yep...people who were running beat my cab!!

The race was so much fun to watch, well the obstacles were! Here are some pictures...this first one is posted on the Urbanathlon website...Jimmy is #205...no head, but he is still HOT :) I was so incredibly proud of him, he did amazing and keeps amazing me more and more every day. The rest are some of what I took. Oh yea...this might have been the Men's Health Urbanathlon, but there were plenty of women participating and kicking butt too! So if this is up your alley, I suggest you go for it next year!!

Exciting News & The Best Husband in the World!!

So last night while watching TV I was feeling the baby move like crazy. I didn't think that I would be able to feel it on the outside, but I put my hand on my stomach and could definitely feel it. So I called Jimmy over and put his hand on my stomach and he waited and then the baby moved again and he felt it! It was so cute, he was so excited! I was so happy to finally be able to share that feeling with him.

Then today, I was at work and Jimmy called and asked me when I could leave work. I thought at first he wanted me to meet up with him before he went to work at the bar. Well I told him I had to stay until 5 since I went in late on Tuesday. So then he said "I'll call you right back". So a minute or two later he called back and said that I need to leave work by 5, because he called and made an appointment for me to get a prenatal massage!! He was going by there on his way to work and paying for it all. HOW INCREDIBLY SWEET IS HE!!! I love him so much!!

The massage was so wonderful. It was an hour and a half!! I could have laid there forever. It was great and I definitely want to go back before the baby comes.

I just wanted to share my exciting news and brag a little about my wonderfully amazing husband.

I have to go now, because I am about ready to get an 85 lb dog on my lap, because it is storming outside and as soon as it thunders...he becomes a lap dog!!

oh...here is a really cute picture of Tucker our pup that Jimmy took the other day...I love my babies :)

21 Weeks

Only 19 weeks to go...nineteen weeks!

We went and registered this past weekend at Babies-R-Us and Target. We were both totally overwhelmed. There is so much stuff at Babies-R-Us. SO MUCH STUFF! How can one teeny tiny little person need SO MUCH STUFF!

I think we are going to have to go and get another house to put all of the babies stuff in!! We were walking around the store looking at everything and trying to decide on which one of the 15 different pack-and-plays we wanted, which had what and which were better or worse then the others. And we came to the conclusion, that we had no clue, so we picked which ones we liked best. :) The ones that we thought were good for either a girl or a boy, that looked nice, had the things that we thought we'd want and use. Who knows if we are right, if we will use everything that we registered for or what. How are we supposed to know this? I have read books, looked things up online and talked to friends who have kids etc. and everyone has different opinions..."we couldn't have lived without a swing" "our baby never liked the swing" and so on and so forth...how are we supposed to know!?

So we did the best we could and picked out what we liked and thought we'd use and what some of our friends have for their kids...and if our kid doesn't like it or use it, maybe our 2nd kid will or we will sell them on craigslist or something. Who knows. It is all a mystery and a surprise. I am incredibly excited about it all.

I think it is finally hitting me that we are having a baby and we have a lot of things to do to get ready for the baby. We are starting to talk more and more about names...still coming to no conclusions. We have the fabric that we are going to use in the nursery. I am hoping to get some cool artwork to decorate the nursery. And we need to get to work on the nursery very soon. So much to do!!

Well I am off to go and watch Biggest Loser.

Until next week...

Adios :)

20 Weeks!!

20 Weeks!! Half way!! We are half way there! In a little over 4 months we will have a baby! I can't believe it!! We had another Dr's appointment tonight and everything is great.

I tried to scan the ultrasound photos from last week and they did not scan well at all. It looks like a black blob...so that is why I didn't post them. If I can try and use a different scanner they might turn out better, if not you will just have to wait a few months for the real thing.

I did get to ask my Dr. today about going to Germany...see there is a work trip the first week in January and I get to go...well if my Dr. lets me. So my Dr. said that she can let me know at my appointment December 11th if she thinks I can go or not. So I just have to wait and hope that everything goes very smoothly over the next 2 months so I can go and see Germany for a few days in January :)

Jimmy and I went to Babies R Us yesterday and looked around and are now trying to decide on what we want to register for. Hopefully we can have that decided in week so we can go and register.

The ladies at work asked me to pick a day in early January for a shower at work. They are all so nice :) and thoughtful.

I have to run, Biggest Loser is on in a little bit and I need to go and watch it!

Hope everyone is well!!

Adios :)

19 Weeks and Counting...

I can't believe that on Monday yes 5 days from now, I will be half way through my pregnancy! Half Way! Time is flying and there is so much to do...so much to do with 3+ holidays in between...if I thought time was flying...it is really going to fly now.

We had our big ultrasound on Monday, everything looked wonderful. The baby is healthy and measured at just one day later then the due date I was already given of Feb 25th. The one thing we learned...is that the baby doesn't like to have his/her picture taken :) they kept trying to get a good profile picture of the baby for us, and all we could get was the back of its head :) We did eventually get a semi-decent one. Once I get it scanned in at work I will post it. The baby is definitely a lot bigger then the last ultrasound picture I posted at 8 weeks...and it is just going to get bigger!!

Now on to making a list of everything we need to get and register for. I have books upon books that people have given me to look at for everything we need. I am just in overload. I need a few days to just sit with Jimmy and figure everything out...and looking at our schedules...that won't be until November!! But then that will be here before we know it...ahhh time flies!!

Adios :)
