17 Weeks...

I am 17 weeks today. Time is still flying. I am starting to feel the baby move...well at least I think that is what it is. It feels funny - don't really know how to describe it. But it is so exciting.

I will have to post a picture of my ever expanding stomach one day soon.

Work is getting busier...we got a request to do some more classes out of town. One in Miami the 4-7 of Nov. This one is perfect timing because my parents are going to be in Tampa for my brothers baseball tournament that week/weekend so I think I might fly up to Tampa after we are done work in Miami and spend the weekend with my parents and get some sun and lay by the pool. Then we are trying to get a trip to Germany together the week before Christmas...I am hoping that one comes through, because by then Jimmy will have some vacation days and he can come over and spend a few days...our last big hurrah trip before the baby comes and will be traveling with us.

Things are looking up...Jimmy's job...some traveling...feeling the baby move. Our house is still a disaster, but we will eventually get it cleaned up some time...soon I hope!

The Biggest Loser is on tomorrow night and I am so excited!! I can't wait to see how the teams react to Jillian coming back and I can't wait to see how much the lose!!

ok...got to go and switch the laundry.

Adios :)

Overwhelmed and Excited...

Two extremes...I am so completely overwhelmed that I don't have enough time in the day to do what needs to be done, both at work and at home...and incredibly excited, because Jimmy's clearance came through and he got a start date for his new job!!

So he will now have a FT job with benefits, paid vacation, paid sick leave and REGULAR HOURS!! I am so excited this finally came through for him, I just hope he really likes working there as much as I do. Gosh I hope so. But now things can start rolling...we will have enough money to do things we have been wanting to do to the house etc, and no more worrying if he will make enough bar tending. Life will be so much more relaxed, I just hope he is happy. He says he is now, but I need to give the job a few weeks before I will really be able to tell if he is happy.

Now to the overwhelming part. I have to teach a block tomorrow, I finished up my PowerPoint about 5 minutes before I rushed out of work to get home to take care of the dogs and make up dishes for tailgating at the UMD v. WVU football game tomorrow. Then I got a baby shower gift for a lady at work (who doesn't even work with us, but her husband does...everyone at our work is so generous and nice) and I don't even know her, I do barely know the husband, but with being pregnant and all, I figured I'd send a gift even though I can't attend the shower, I am sure she will do the same for me when the time comes. Then I had to go and get Jimmy a body pillow like I promised. I have been sleeping with one, since it has been the only way I have been able to fall asleep now that I am not supposed to be sleeping on my stomach - which I have my entire life - and while I was away at the beach last weekend, Jimmy slept with my pillow and loves it, so I said I'd get him one. So I did that and got this fuzzy wand thing to clean out our dryer vent.

Oh and there are still MILLIONS of things that I need to do at work for the next 2 weeks of class and at home to make our house look presentable. AND clean out the basement as we got our quote back from the contractor and hopefully we will have the framing up and completed by the end of September, which will be a HUGE step in the right direction.

I am going out of town for the next 3 weekends though...so no time to spend doing things around the house unless it is during the week nights. Which I will do...but I am starting up reffing dodge ball in 2 weeks too, so that will be one or two nights out of the week...but it will be money for the basement. What to do, what to do.

Jimmy is taking off 3 full days in between quitting his job at the gym and taking the new job, so hopefully he can get some things done around the house that we have been trying to do. Like get the boards put up in the attic that are currently sitting in the middle of our dining room floor!!

Something exciting did happen at work yesterday...someone who didn't know I was pregnant came up to me and asked me if I was!! I am so happy that you can finally tell a little bit that I am actually pregnant. Don't know why that makes me so happy but it does. :)

Ok, now it is way past my bed time. I needed to be in bed at like 9:30 I have to be at work extra early to review my slides for my class...eh...

Sorry to rant...thanks for listening...

Until then...

Adios :)

Alive & Well...though growing by the minute...

I know I have been missing in action for a long time and I have missed blogging, but I have been busy busy busy and right now I am really not sure doing what. That seems to be my life lately, I have been busy with not much to show for it.

I go to work, come home, take care of the dogs, clean up around the house and then watch some tv and go to bed. Then every weekend from here through mid October I am booked with something to do. Time is flying.

I can't believe that I am already 16 weeks pregnant. 16 weeks! 4 weeks from 1/2 way there. Scary. So much to do and so little time. We want to finish our basement. Me, I want to pay someone to do the big stuff...Jimmy wants to do it all ourselves. Now while I know we can do it ourselves...it will take way more time then we have. And on top of that we need to do the nursery. So I think I have convinced Jimmy that we will get someone to do parts of the basement that are time consuming...like the framing and the drywall. I have a friend that can do our electric, we can do the bathroom and we can paint and everything else. So...I send out an email to the contractor that did our neighbor's basement tonight and hopefully we will get back a reasonable quote tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed...because if he is reasonable, then we can get rolling on the basement and hopefully have it finished by Christmas -- that would be the best situation...

Jimmy's clearance finally came through, so he might be starting to work with me in a few weeks...so that is looking up. Better benefits and more money are always nice.

I am heading home this weekend to go shopping with my mom for maternity clothes at the outlets. My mom is one of my favorite people to go shopping with...because she buys :) heehee I am milking it up while I can because after her first grandchild is here I have a feeling that I won't be getting much :)

I made a big batch of french onion soup tonight and it turned out delicious! I can't wait to have it for lunch tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't stink up the microwave too much at work. Some people at work are way too sensitive about things you cook in the microwave.

Well I need to sign off and go look up some info about planning our 10 year high school reunion.

Until then...

Adios :)
