our lives are changing forever and I am starting to freak. 13
weeks left. ok...that is a little while...but then my friend Kelly
tells me that you are considered 'full term' at 37 weeks...that
is only 10 weeks!! TEN WEEKS!!
I don't know if I want to say I'd really like this whole process
to hurry up or what...but things are getting more and more tough
to do...more uncomfortable and I can't sleep worth a dang. I have
tried all of the pillows in all of the conglomerations that exist
and nothing works. I still wake up about 6 times a night 1/2 of
which are to go to the bathroom and the other half are to move my
whale of a body and simply roll over. I never in my entire life
got up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom. It drives
me crazy!!
I went to the outlet mall by my work for a little Christmas shopping
yesterday after work before I met Megs for dinner and I got to about
2 stores, then my joints started hurting and I was hot as heck. I made
it about an hour or so then had to head back to the car. I was beat! I
used to be able to run miles and miles...now walking the mall is a task.
Plus getting down on the floor to wrap Christmas presents...not so easy
either...and the getting up part is even more tough. I don't know how
people do this with a toddler running around. I guess it gets easier,
when you have to do it, but we'll see.
I am having incredibly weird dreams...like last night...I was parked in
a parking garage (I had my car from freshman year of college...which is
long gone now) and someone stole my car. I wandered around for hours with
my friend looking for it and it was gone. Then I went to the security
office, which was ran by a lady I work with currently who is our security
officer...but she was wearing a uniform sitting behind multiple monitors
watching the surveillance footage and we tried to find out who took my car
and when. Then I wake up...no conclusion to the dream at all what-so-ever.
So Thanksgiving was great. I didn't over eat at all...since there is
minimal room in my stomach for food with all that baby in there. So that
was good. Got outside and played wiffle ball and threw a football with
my cousin's 5 year old. Since the weather was so nice it was great to be
outside. I got a few nice walks in with the dogs while I was at my parents
house too. I needed to get them out as much as possible so they'd lay down
and relax during dinner. Since my parents house is so small there isn't
much room for 14 people and 3 big dogs. But they were great and there were
no food fiascoes with the dogs this year....the past 2 years Chloe has
eaten an entire broccoli casserole and an entire pumpkin roll...one each
year, so at least she doesn't over indulge :)
Thanksgiving morning every year, my husband and best friend Meg always
run a 10K for MS...well this year there was no running of a 10K for me.
Which last year I completed in under an hour...to this year competing in
the 5K of this same race...walking...and finishing that in 50 min!! Whoa
how things have gone downhill fast. :( Jimmy and Megs still ran the 10K
and then walked with me...and Jimmy managed to shave off 6 minutes from
his time from last year!! He has gotten into major shape over the last
year. He could have done better then that too I am sure...except that he
bar tended the night before in Baltimore and was up until 4:30 am and
then drove to Wilmington...an hour...to sleep for 2 hours then run. Poor
boy...but he was a trooper!
Black Friday...so last year my Mom and I got up extra early and hit a
bunch of stores...well this year was very different. I did not want to
go out at all. First was because with finishing the basement and all, I
had no money and second of all there wasn't anything that I really needed
to buy. Of course Jimmy was on the lookout for his 50" Plasma TV for the
basement...though I told him from the get go that I wanted nothing to do
with getting up at 4 am and fighting people for a TV. So...I took a look
at the ads...and low and behold there was a vanity on sale at Lowes that
we had looked at getting for the basement a few weeks before, on sale $50
off. eh. And then there is a 46" LCD flat screen TV at Sears that Jimmy
wanted. So we made a deal. I'd get up at 5:30 and go to Lowes to get the
vanity...my thinking...heck who is going to be at the home improvement
store on Black Friday...and he would got to Sears after he gets off of
work at the bar and be there before the doors open at 5am. Deal. So I get
up and go and get the vanity, I was right...no problems! There was like me
and 10 other people in the store, and one guy came and got the vanity for
me and also loaded in my car. I was home and back in bed by 6:25. Perfect.
Until I get an irate phone call from Jimmy about how he spent 30 min in
line, then got inside to spend another 30 min in line to find out that
everyone bought the TV's the day before hand and then were all coming back
for price adjustments today. Boy was he mad!! So he went home with no TV.
:( But then on Saturday after he had made it back to DE for my reunion on
Friday night and then we were headed home in separate cars...he calls
me and says "I think I am going to swing into Best Buy to take a look at
the TV's" I am like ok...fine, whatever you want to do. So he then calls me
about 30 min later to tell me he bought a 50" plasma...and we can pick it
up on the 30th. He was in heaven :) Now just to keep him from taking it out
of the box until Bob is finished working on the basement!! He also bought
me an early Christmas present at EMS right next to Best Buy...I have been
wanting a pair of Uggs boots...but I kept telling him I didn't really need
the 'real' ones that they were too expensive. But he bought them for me
anyway...and boy do I LOVE THEM!! They are the most comfortable thing in
the entire world. I never want to take them off...you don't wear socks with
them and they are fuzzy inside and wonderful! I kept telling Jimmy that my
baby carrying feet needed comfortable shoes...my guilt worked :) heehee Here
are a picture of my new favorite shoes!!

The day after Thanksgiving was my 10 year high school reunion. It went
great!! Having a major hand in planning it I was a tad bit worried that
people wouldn't have fun or wouldn't like the place (though that is one
of the things that I had nothing to do with) but it all worked out
wonderfully! So great, that I had people coming up to me all night long,
thanking me for putting it together and that they were having such a good
time. I even had like 5 or 10 emails from people over the next few days,
telling me how they had such a wonderful time and it was so great to see
everyone and that we shouldn't wait 10 more years to all get together
again. So that was wonderful to hear! It was really a fun time. I
know most people dread reunions, but we had an amazing turn out...plus
in my high school there were your usual clicks and all, but at the reunion
every one was talking to everyone else and everyone was getting along
great! I had no worries about that part going in. So all in all a pretty
great weekend. Jimmy didn't have as much fun as I did at the reunion, but
that was to be expected. :)
We think we have found a pediatrician. See I am not one of those over
the top moms...well not yet anyway...who feels the need to go out and
interview 15 doctors (as my neighbor did) to find the right one for
our baby. I like to go by word of mouth, so I asked around at work to
see if anyone knew any pediatricians near where we leave and one of my
coworkers told me about her friend who is a very picky Mom and how
much she loves her pediatrician who is only 15 min from our house. So
she got the info for me and I called today, they take our insurance,
are accepting new patients and work with the hospital we are delivering
at...SCORE!! So the receptionist suggested that we come and meet with
the Dr. so I made an appointment and then went around the office and 20
questioned the Mom's that work here for at least 5 questions so I
wouldn't go in unprepared! So now I have my questions written down, so
as long as this lady isn't scary or mean, we are set. I am glad she is a
female...for some reason I am not a fan of male Dr's...don't know why,
have no reason to not like them...I have just always had female Dr's...I
guess that is it. So one more thing checked off of the list of things to
do before the baby arrives!! There are tons more on that list, but I tend
to freak out if I think about it too much :)
Sorry this post was all over the place, but there has been a lot going
on with a lot of different things...so instead of posting like 15
different posts it worked better to just put them all into one!!
Hope everyone is doing well and had a very happy holiday weekend!!
Only 27 days until Christmas!!
Adios :)
