22 Weeks

Only 18 more to go....or less. I read today that 1 in 8 babies are born 3 weeks early. So here is my one pet peeve with having a baby...

I am a planner.
I have things planned on my calendar through January.
I have to have everything planned out...what we are doing at night, what we are doing on the weekend etc.

And this is the one thing that I can not plan. Not at all.

No knowing when the baby is coming...well yes...give or take a few weeks, but no planning to the day. And this both worries me and frustrates me to no end. I think I am just apprehensive about it all. We need to get the nursery done, the furniture in the room and everything set and ready for the baby, since we don't know when he/she will arrive. I am incredibly excited and just wish I could count down the days and mark the date on the calendar of when the new little one will arrive...guess I will have to learn how to not plan will take some work...

I am incredibly excited, because we have finally decided on a contractor to finish our basement. And he is going to start on MONDAY!!! I have been pushing and pushing getting the basement done to Jimmy over the past few months because we need the floor room and space before the baby gets here. So now we are getting moving on it and getting it done!! I can't wait until it is all finished and the dogs will have more room and we will have more room too. I will post progress pictures after we finally get it all cleared out of the remaining junk this weekend.

Tomorrow night we are going to go and buy the paint and molding for the nursery. So I need to get going and keep up the cleaning and clearing out of the office...which will soon be the nursery. I will definitely take pictures of the nursery and post them too. It will be empty for a while though, since we registered for our nursery furniture (we hope to get some of it for Christmas...if not we will go and buy it).

Adios :)

Sorry but the baby will come when he/she comes. Mikayla was born 2.5 weeks early and now that I am ready for number 2 I want the second one to come just as early. I feel so much bigger this time I am ready to get this over with and hold the little one!

Are you going to find out if you are having a boy or a girl - or is it going to be a suprise?

Plan on getting your nursey and all of the shopping done by the beginning of your ninth month so early January and then you just have to sit back and wait for the baby to be born.

I was ready for Mikayla when she was born but because she came sooo early and I live at high elevation I did not have any clothes to fit her they were all too big. She was only 5 pounds. Also no one told me to wash all of her clothes before she wore them so here I had a baby and I had all of those too big clothes with tags and everything on them sitting at home just waiting for her to wear them and the doctor told me to wash all of her clothes first. So my first day home from the hospital was spent washing baby clothes.

Are you going to breast feed? If so you will need a breast pump. Next diapers - cloth or disposable? Mikayla was all disposable with some trial runs using cloth. This time I am planning on cloth, they make all in ones so it is super easy.

Now that I have done the math I am only 3 weeks ahead of you. Post some pregnant picture will ya!!

Rule #5 on becoming a parent: Expect ALL plans to change at a moments notice.

Heading out the door to make an appointment on time? Uh-oh, baby just had a diaper explosion and it's running down his/her legs... Yes, NOW you need to stop, strip the child, bathe the child, rinse the soiled clothes and put a fresh set on... And whatever waits on the other side will just have to wait!

Heading out for a lovely affair, ALL dressed up and Oooops! Baby just spit up all over your shoulder and down the back of your best dress! Pay no nevermind, because at least for the next year, no one is going to care what you look like, all they'll want to see is the baby!

Trust me, kids make us better able to cope with all of life's surprises. They make the littlest thing that you may have never taken the time to notice before seem absolutely amazing... And they'll take the things which used to be more important than ever and put them into perspective.

I'm SO excited for you both and the ride of your life!
